34 instate recruites for next year that michigan is intersted in?
on Varsity Blue 2010 recruiting board there are 34 rucruits in the State of Michigan that M alone has some interest in. Could Michigan actually be a decent highschool football state next year? It is going to be an important state to get recruits from, kind of exciting. Oh and here is the link so you can see for yourself

theres going to be 3 guys that are 4 stars are better just at the QB position in MI. i think next year will be a good year for the state

i was just looking through the list and they have a rating system. is that supposed to be stars are like level at which we pursue them because if its supposed to be like stars does that mean marvin robinson and ricardo could both be 5* recruits?

I'm thinking this is VB's guess as to how they'll end up rated in terms of stars. If it was by desire, I'd imagine Devin Gardner would be a 13.

Michigan prospects that come to mind in respect to positions of need:
QB - Devin Gardner, Robert Bolden (both offered by UM and Rivals 250 watch list for '10 members)
LB - Austin Gray (offered by UM, I believe)
DE - William Gholston (offered by UM, Rivals 250 watch list '10 member)

For those in the Ann Arbor area, 28 August presents a fine opportunity to see two players on that list when Ann Arbor Huron (Jeremy Jackson) plays Chelsea (Nick Hill).

We will for sure pursue Bolden, Gardner,Gray, White, Hill, Mathis and Gholtston (in addition to making sure Jackson stays). Other than that, I'm not sure who else we will really go after in-state. I'm sure some more prospects will come up as the season progresses. For now, though, these are the guys we want. Ideally, we land Gardner, one of Hill or White, Mathis, Gholston, and maybe Gray. Then, we can land Bryant and Baldwin from Ohio, Lo Wood and Robinson from Florida, and Brennan Clay from Cal. That's 12 right there that will all be Rivals 250 guys...

OSU folks are very, very confident on Baldwin.
As for in-state, Austin Gray and Nick Hill seem likely to jump pretty close to immediately at Michigan offers. A poster at Scout claims to have recently chatted with Big Will on campus, and he told him that Michigan is in great shape with Mathis (and Easterly, if they pursue). I tend to believe Tom when he says Michigan doesn't have much of a shot with Gholston, and I do expect him to commit to MSU sometime during the spring, despite him saying he will drag it out. If he DOES drag it out, who knows. Somewhat related to Gholston (and very much related to a need in the 2010 class), DT Jonathon Hankins from Southeastern. Probable top 15 in the state, could be a 3-star or *maybe* a low 4. He claimed a couple months back that Michigan was his leader (and MSU folks seem to think so, too), but with SE being an MSU "pipeline" (which was basically created by UM), hard to say...

MSU only won our state in recruiting bc we didnt want them. We went for speed, in the south. Enough said.

we would have definately wanted wanted Norman if we hadn't signed 4 lb's last year. by the time 2 spots opened, he was gone and we were out. i'm pretty sure we tried to go after baker too. but seriously, i don't think we did try all that hard for most of the in-state guys they got. we mostly just sucked in the cass tech pipe and tossed cam gordon in with it (and if i'm not mistaken, they wanted pretty much all the in-state kids we got)

This isn't really true. Rich Rod wanted Baker & Norman. They chose MSU over UofM.
