2021 RB Colby McDonald names M to top 8

Washington (DC) St. John's running back Colby McDonald named Michigan to his top 8 today, along with Pitt, Louisville, Maryland, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Boston College, and Syracuse. McDonald is a 3-star, the #73 running back, and #916 overall.

St. John's is the same school that Michigan safety Quinten Johnson attended.

For what it's worth, his league, WCAC, is pretty good. In 2020 it's sending out the #3 overall recruit (Bryan Bresee, to Clemson), and has another five star and seven four stars going to high-majors, in addition to a bunch of three stars heading to big programs (e.g. Penn State, ND, UM, Baylor, Louisville, VT).

"God what is the staff doing watching film and recruiting people? When will we take the rivalry seriously?!?!? Cancel the season, we might lose a game this year because of this three star who won't be on campus another year"

Since I'm completely ignorant about the music you damn kids listen to these days, I've got a question about the HUDL videos that's been bugging me for a long time: is the background music sampled from recognizable hiphop/rap/whatever songs, or is it being created specifically for these videos?

Donovan Edwards or bust. Or at least a close proximity in this class. Anybody who doesn't see that...yikes! Osu getting Pryor and Henderson... We need Donovan Edwards. That having been said if we are taking multiple running backs the kid looks pretty good!

Just out of curiosity: is this based on some intel or just a hunch? MSU being able to recruit favorably against Michigan without some in-built advantage (parents are alums, etc.), given the state of that program and the prior success of the new hire, would blow my mind. Maybe if they get some results in 2-3 years we can talk about it, but for now, the MSU threat should be quelled.

I just named Michigan to my Top 8, but I already graduated, have to pay to run around the stadium, and am asked by "other athletes" already at the school to give them money so that they (and others) can go there instead of me...

Every one of these posts ends up with a bunch of posters saying how underrated literally every prospect is and then when they get on the field at Michigan we lose 3 games. Maybe most are correctly rated with a few 3 star recruits underrated and a few 4 and 5 star recruits overrated.

I agree with this. Not necessarily in regard to McDonald, but if you stick with the idea that there can only be so many 5- and 4-stars in a class (say, 340), then for every guy you want to bump up to 4-star status, you have to bump someone else down.

It's rare/non-existent that you see someone say that a 4-star should be downgraded to a 3-star, so I take it with a grain of salt every time someone says "_________ should be a 4-star." Well, that only really means anything if you look at some of the players above him and identify which one(s) he's better than.
