2010 recruiting-Andrew Schofield
Andrew Schofield of Orland Park, Ill. is the younger brother of 2009 OT Michael Schofield. Does anybody know if he projects to be as good of a recruit as his older brother? He's currently listed as 6-5, 250, so obviously he has some growing to do. I would imagine we'd have the inside track on him if we want him. Doesn't appear to have major offers yet (who does outside of the very best 2010 prospects) but his listed interest schools are Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Notre Dame, Purdue, and UCLA. Not exactly a bad list. Any thoughts?

No he's not as good. Schools he's interested in, and schools that are interested in him are two different things.

based on the fact that none had offered yet. Does he project as even a 3 star guy? Another guy I noticed for the first time today is Johnathon Hankins, a DT from Detroit SE HS. Also, why have we never heard much of Daniel Easterly? His measureabls look very very good. He's a Cass Tech guy too. As always, thanks Tom, for the info.

Hankins said a while back that Michigan was his favorite, but MSU is locking down Southeastern, so I'd be hesitant to get any hopes up there.

Michael Schofield's brother is named Lincoln. Where did you get Andrew?

How is MSU "locking down" Southeastern? Don't kids have a choice?

I think that's a joke.

I think he meant the same way we have a lot of recruits from Cass Tech so therefore we have somewhat of an advantage in that aspect. I could be wrong though.

Correct. Like Miami is locking down Northwestern High School, OSU has Glenville locked down for the most part, UM working to lock down Cass Tech, etc...MSU is doing that with Southeastern. Fred Smith, Charles Burrell, William Gholston...MSU is making great inroads at SE.
