#10 Michigan Hockey vs Robert Morris open thread

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

In what is probably the biggest trap series ever and the toughest home non-conference games we'll see this year, Michigan takes on Robert Morris tonight.

Robert Morris is 2-0-2 on the season, with a 5-1 win over Air Force and an 8-2 win over (Michigan's next opponent) Niagara. They tied those same two teams, both by scores of 3-3.

Errr. Not sure how I feel about Nagelvoort starting. Last week it was Racine-Nagelvoort on Fri-Sat. Hope they just switched the goalies schedule up.

Turnover in our own end 30 seconds in and now a penalty in the offensive zone by Calderone. Cumong man.

Re-watched the goal and Brian is right. What a disturbing lack of effort by Werenski on backcheck. Just strolling on down nonchalantly as a 2-on-1 is happening.

I'm so scarred from past transgressions that I had to wait until they confirmed it to celebrate. Great response this period so far.

11 nhl draft picks with all sorts of accolades ready to drop first game of series against a bunch of older hard working guys. How much of this is goaltending vs. defensive play?

People rag on the goalies......how are you supposed to be confident when there are odd man rushes coming every single game? Racine has unfortunately had to play behind three terrible defenses.

RMU is a good team. The PairWise doesn't care since they play in the Sun Belt of college hockey, though.

OSU loses to Mercyhurst to fall to 0-7-0. PSU trails St Lawrence. Wisconsin in dogfight with Arizona State who was playing ACHA club hockey in April.

The team looks good, controls play and gets a lot of scoring chances.  Unfortunately, we just barely miss on a lot of those chances.  Then we break down, give up odd man rushes or leave somebody open in the zone.  And both of our goalies are a notch below the level of typical Michigan goalies.  Arghhhhhhh.
