The game was way different back then; refs actually called traveling and both teams only shot about 10 threes all game combined.
And the crowd would roar “THREEEEEEE” everytime the ball was in the air. It was just a bigger deal.
The game was a destination. Crisler was filled with the finest smoke from the finest cuban cigars. Men wore suits, hats. Women knitted quietly in the back. My personal valet would park the buggy near Tom's Haberdashery on Main and I would be fitted for a new bowler after each win. When the cagers from University of Chicago would visit, they would be torn asunder. It was by jolly bedlam.
Big men actually played inside and Webber was a freaking monster.

That Jent shot still makes me pucker.
In case you missed it when the Fab Five scored 73 of the team's 75 points to lead the Wolverines to a 75-71 win that broke a five-game losing streak against Ohio State and sent Michigan to the Final Four. LINK
The Fab 5 were known for their trash talking and flashy plays, but they were so good on defense and unselfish passers which made them a great team though they were inconsistent due to shooting and turnovers.
I agree. They always played good, hard defense. It tends to get overlooked because of how flashy they could be on the other end, but those were some good defensive teams.
I has forgotten how good a player Funderburke was for OSU. He never did much in the NBA though I don't think.
hated that bastard..... like evan turner hate..
I know we lost in the 1994 Elite Eight, but I would recommend watching that game, especially the second half. That was possibly Juwan's best game in college. The same emotion we saw in the presser yesterday was on display in that game.
He played out of his mind that whole tournament. I think he averaged 30+ points. A man amongst boys.
I believe he was the Most Outstanding Player of the regional even though we didn't win it, which tells you something.
That was the game where Juwan took his shorts off in front of President Clinton. (He had blood on them and compression shorts underneath.) I forget which bench player donated his shorts to the cause.
