this is good to see. t/yI think there have been some moments this year where Michigan has looked flat out effing tough. And tough to stop. If Penn St. is number 3, our,"scrubs," so to speak, handled em for a half of football. On the road no less. But what sucks for me to even type or think aloud is this. We need ALL/MOST of these future recruits to just stay where we are at. And yes I mean where we are at now. Some will improve over this off season but more importantly it will be because of new blood that Michigan Football goes forward. Barwis can work miracles but we need quality recruits. I know we are a couple of lucky breaks away from a completely different season record. But we are also a couple of lucky breaks away from another loss or two. We will still need them(new potential recruits) to buy in and buy in early. Building legends is different than maintaining them. One takes a raw brute force the other a controlled aggression. This current team is learning that. Or learning, if the tradition is stripped away, what exactly are we as individual players? Or to put it another way, are some of riding the coattails of former great players? I think some of what RR inherited was guys who were standing on the shoulders of giants so to speak. When you are under the microscope like this team has been you learn resiliency. And that does ultimately translate into NFL signings. Going to the established programs who are currently winning can the worst things for some kids in the long run. When you combine that learned resiliency with super recruits and a good conditioning program. Well you have a serious recipe for future greatness. So this recruiting list is good to see.

I wouldn't worry too much for the future. A lot of the guys in '10 class that haven't been in the media too much REALLY like M. There's guys that are under the radar that have us high on their boards. Robert Crisp, Christian Lombard, Keeston Terry, and Chris Dunkley to name a few. The '10 class is really going to be a showcase of who RR wants, and we'll see who he gets.

Im quietly upbeat Mr. VanHaaren. I've seen enough good from this coaching staff to be looking down the road. If I was a recruit out there in America, I don't think I would look but two places to play. USC or MI. MI did get a great one in Rich Rodriguez. More people will fall BACK in line soon enough. As will more recruits. It's in these down cycles though that you get some real gamers for recruiting. my opinion there though

Tom - I love your stuff so far. You had asked for suggestion of people to try to talk to - how about Haulstead? From what I've read, he's pretty much the best "outside" WR on our board now that McNeal is out, but also keep reading that he'll be hard to get out the state of Florida (plus, he's an FSU commit). But, as with a lot of stuff, none of it is quoted to him - it's just lots of people saying "I think Haulstead wants ____". It'd be good to get it from the horse's mouth.

That is a great idea. I'll work on that. I've already got some done, that should post in the next couple weeks that should be pretty interesting. So keep reading, and I'll let you know about Willie.
