Hello everyone

Submitted by Big House Football on
I would like to say hello to everyone out there. I have heard about this site for a long time but for some reason never took the time to check it out. But after checking it out I am glad that I did. To find a place where so many others come to talk about the same team and same issues that I have an opinion on is great. So if you find the time and have something you would like to discuss drop me a line and let's talk sports or anything else that's on your mind. I know that for myself, I am looking forward to the next season of Michigan football, lord knows it couldn't be any worse that last year. I like so many others are hoping to see the improvement and the success the Rich Rod has talked about since becoming a part of this great institution. As long as he can get the kind of athletes that are required in the style of football that he is attempting to install I think that we can get back to bowl games and the national titles that we have become accustom to. Only 216 more days to go until kick-off but who is counting? The only thing about the upcoming season that I am not looking forward to is having to listen to Kirk Herbstreit go on and on about what this team needs to do or what that guy is doing wrong or needs to improve on. It's like you you take financial advice from Donald Trump or a homeless guy? They way I see it, Herbstreit is the homeless guy. He has no room to give advice, he wasn't good enough to play in the NFL so the only other way he could be a thorn in the side of Michigan fans it have have his mug on t.v. and do all he can to piss us off by giving backhanded compliments while covering Michigan games. He never has anything good to say about the program, but he can sure find the good in ohio state.(notice it's not in caps) Anyway enough of that. I hope to hear from you soon. Oh yea, and Go Blue!!!!!!!!!!!

And I'm a huge Michigan fan (literally 6'6" and figuratively): (1) Michigan is not accustomed to national titles. Only 1 in 60 years. (2) You, sir, are counting the days down until kick off. (3) Herbstreit didn't cover any Michigan games last year. He only "covers" the high-profile Saturday night games. Unfortunately that ruled us out. (4) If you need an explanation as to why Herbstreit always finds the good in Ohio State, you must be under the age of 15.

I'm sorry, but the relentless positivity and cheer raises my cynicism meter to 11. Its not an ideal quality on my part but there you go. Welcome though Big House. As for your content, Given the limits of being an OSU grad I actually have a decent opinion about Herbstreit, he's had terrible calls that we all know, but other things have been pretty much on... I'm one of those that loves College Gameday and I respect Chris Fowler, so guilty there. There's too much homerism IMHO regarding Herbstreit.

If your the dude who posts as BigHouseFootball at umgoblue, then go away, you're not wanted. You single handedly ruined that blog for me and many people. If your not, then welcome.

Big House, Brian allows differing viewpoints on his message board. Don't let guys like Nate Dawg scare you away. Some people wouldn't be happy unless this blog turned into the Scout or Rivals "fanboy" laden message boards.

I would like to thank all of you for your opinions and criticism. And thanks to those who welcomed me. I am not anyone who ruined a blog or anything like that. This is the first time that I have ever been to a site like this. I guess I decided to check it out and post a blog because I wanted to talk to fellow Michigan fans and talk sports. I currently live in Wisconsin so there aren't many people here that can speak objectively about this great university. The only thing they have is hate for people like myself. I am living behind enemy lines, so all the people out there that have nasty things to say about me that don't know me, it doesn't really matter. I have delt with much worse, trust me. But all of you nice folks out there that welcome me with open arms, I really appreciate it. Of course we are going to disagree on some things, that is what makes the world such a great place. If we all agreed on everything it would be very boring. I do have to agree that Mark May seems to go out of his way to express his dislike for Michigan. I apologise if I offended anyone by bashing Kirk Herbstreit, I just really do not like him at all and I will leave it at that. Oh yea and there is no possible way that I would ever burn out on Michigan. I am not going to declare myself as the biggest Michigan fan because I am sure that someone would disagree with me but I have been a fan since I was very young and not by the influence of anyone. My family doesn't watch sports, I was just born a fan of Michigan. So I look forward to hearing from you all again soon. Take care.

Right Jay-- I want this blog to turn into a Scout blog. I encourage differing viewpoints as well. "Differing viewpoints" is distinct from the garbage posted at umgoblue by bighousefootball. As I said, welcome Big House. Here's to intelligent conversations and differing viewpoints.

I am sorry if this isn't the right place for me to post my comments and views on Michigan sports. I was under the assumption that this was what this site was all about. I try and follow scouting reports as best as I can but I don't have allot of time to do so. I am not from another blog site, and I don't mean any harm you your blog site. I just want to talk Michigan sports to Michigan fans. That is all, I don't want to cause and problems for anyone. So if you can find room in your blog site for another true Blue fan I would appreciate being part of it.
