MGoPodcast 12.25: A McDonald's Bag With Legs
We’re going to put out two half-sized episodes this week so we can preview LSU.
The Sponsors

And let’s not forget our associate sponsors: HomeSure Lending, Ann Arbor Elder Law, the Residence Inn Ann Arbor Downtown, Michigan Law Grad, Human Element, The Phil Klein Insurance Group, and Information Entropy, the Raw Power app for iOS by Gentleman Coders.
And introducing SignalWire, which is the virtual office platform we recorded this on because we’ve had it up to here with Zoom (use the code MUPPETS and they’ll buy your team lunch!)
1. Recapping Texas Southern
starts at 1:00
Zeb Jackson for ten minutes—just want that guy getting some confidence in his shot. Interesting high-low with Terrance Williams, since he’s not a spot-up threat right now: keep him on the court with Dickinson. Speaking of Dickinson: don’t want him contesting 20% guards—fouling out was just a ref show. Other wings turned down open catch and shoot threes.t
2. Previewing LSU
starts at 20:22
Iowa stats but get there the opposite way: all the Isolation, very few baskets are assisted. They don’t play defense—Michigan will have to shoot well but that’s the big difference. Good news is Michigan just played at the football stadium in the BTT so they’re a bit used to shooting with the backdrop. LSU’s shooting is opponent-invariant, they don’t clean up their own boards because they try to block everything. Worried that LSU is so good at getting calls and converting at the line.

Thanks, Good analysis on LSU.
You kind of answered your own question why Zeb is playable at this point and the concerns of Mike & Eli going against the LSU 6'4" bulky types. Throwing Zeb or even Chaundee out there on Cam & Smart would seemingly limit their effectiveness in the ISO game.
Also, it's ironic without Livers we became 9 deep as this should be a strength against LSU who is 7 deep and that's a stretch.
It sounds like if we run the offense we can get whatever shots we want. Either pound it inside against shorter guys who don't dare foul because there is no depth. Or, rain the threes, which apparently they do not defend too well against.
This should come out fine unless we are ice cold, or they go all Rocket/OSU on their one-on-one takes...
Off topic, but Colin Castleton looking like Roberto Duran for Florida. Hands of stone.

Listen all the way to the end for the Seth cameo.
The site purveyors get an upvote for switching to SignalWire! I don't know the details behind podcast audio configurations, but I've been one of the guys that constantly complains about piss-poor audio on the podcasts. You had to strike a balance between normal audio levels from Ace and Seth with the ultra-quiet Brian level. And that balance got your ear drums blown out when the selected band played during commercial breaks.
Fast forward to SignalWire - perfectly balanced audio between all speakers and commercials, including the band music! And yes, it sounds far more clear than it ever did before.
Kudos for spending the money on a great decision with the new application! And thank you!!!
