Content aside, I'm going to - again - request that Brian's volume be turned up, or Ace/Seth's turned down. When listening, one must turn up the vol level to hear Brian's soft voice; god forbid he trails off into his 'Bri-mumble' - there is no getting those words. Then Ace talks and your ears get pierced. The difference in gain between Ace and Brian is ridiculously infuriating because it's so noticeable! Alas, I expect no changes because this has been a thing since I started listening several years ago...
Otherwise, content was about as good as it could have been, considering that the team coasted into the garage down a cylinder, backfiring, and spewing black, sooty exhaust...

Seth clearly wrote and posted this recap on his phone. No shade, I'm here for it.
Loyola chicago is not a top 10 team, the advanced metrics are not infallible. They are a bad matchup to get the 8/9 seed with but its not nearly as bad as people would make it out to seem. They played two games against teams in better leagues this year than the MVC and lost both. A team that finished outside the top 50 in kenpom went 15-3 in the league, it was terrible this year. Its no different than getting a good vermont team or something along those lines in the second round which happens pretty consistently. Its not like getting Kentucky with stacked nba talent that took a while to gel.
Yeah, especially given how nobody played real OOC games this year I think the advanced metrics for some of these non-major teams need to be taken with a massive grain of salt. That doesn't mean Loyola-Chicago isn't a good team but the fact they're considered the #1 defense in the country sort of highlights how unreliable some of these numbers are.
Of course, if UM plays them with Brooks I'd certainly be nervous.
