1. Sports! Basketball vs. Wisconsin

starts at 1:00

Other than Eli’s offense and everybody else’s in the first half it went as you might expect it to go when a projected 1-seed coming off a three-week hiatus visits a [checks notes] 3-seed. Switching defense was the key in the second half. Wisconsin’s Reuvers seems broken.

2. Around the Big Ten

starts at 28:58

This isn’t all about Michigan State, nor is it all about Illinois fans thinking Michigan tried to dodge a performance that almost lost them a game to Nebraska. Ohio State continues to destroy people. Michigan State, of course.

3. Raw Takes and Gimmicky Top Five Shovelfuls of Advice for People Who Don’t Live in Snowy Places

starts at 51:37

We should all be very good at staying home by now.

4. Ace’s Hockey Podcast

starts at 1:10:01

Michigan splits with Wisconsin, which is up there with Minnesota as the most dominant team in the Big Ten. Portillo starts and does alright. Rust not a huge issue but the Badgers’ talent is.

Living in the DC area during snowmageddon or snowpocalypse, I forget which is which, I'll never forget the sight of an Arlington bus sliding sideways down a hill.  The region f'ed up by not treating the roads in advance, but the sudden flash freeze of some light rain just before the commute home turned the thing into a disaster that no region would have otherwise coped well wtih.

Dave is mostly right about the Weather Channel naming of snow storms being stupid.

But when they tell you thunder snow is a possibility, you get yourself outside and wait for it. I was down by the lake in Chicago for it one night, and it was the coolest weather event I've witnessed.

Ace absolutely knows his basketball, but I have to say that this is so much more enjoyable to listen to without him constantly interrupting everyone else.  If I had a vote, it would be for this to be the standard lineup for the podcast, and let Ace do the recaps and the technical articles.

Three man booths are tough. I enjoy Seth, but I actually think the period where it was Brian and David was probably the smoothest and easiest to listen to period of the podcast. Everyone on staff at mgoblog definitely has a skillset, but to be honest, I read and listen to hear what Brian has to say, so too many distractions away from that degrade the product in my mind.
