Per the man himself, Stephen Spanellis just flipped his commitment from Virginia to Michigan:

The 6'7" thing at guard is a bit overblown. First of all, Swenson probably isn't even 6'7". Second, we've had tall guards in the past who have done fine. Ben Braden and Mark Huyge are/were both 6'6". Jonathan Ogden played some offensive guard at 6'9". I agree that it's typical to have taller tackles and shorter interior guys, but it's not that rare to have tall guards.

He might be the greatest offensive linemen ever. I stand by my point that it's about impossible to win the leverage battle at guard when you're 6'7. Yes there are exceptions to every rule. Swenson certainly isn't one of them. He's a waist bender.

If Swenson were 6'7", this conversation would be more relevant.
Since he's not, there are lots of 6'6" or 6'5" success stories that are more relevant. The bigger issue is that Swenson doesn't bend well. And that's a problem at almost any size.

OL in the fold. Even if he doesn't become a starter, he can provide some quality depth. Next year though, Michigan really needs to bring in a couple stud tackles - guys who can see the field after one year of development.
