Deakon Tonielli Has Committed to Michigan
The 2023 class has a tight end again. Michigan moved quickly to replace Andrew Rappleyea in the class with Oswego, IL, mismatch Deakon Tonielli.
BOOM! I just want to say thank you to every single person who has stood by my side throughout this journey. I am so grateful for @grant_newsome and his awesome support, as well as @CoachJim4UM for the opportunity to become a wolverine! #Committed #GoBlue 〽️ pic.twitter.com/x6KLpGcCEC

Tonielli is listed at 6'6"/215, believable given Grant Newsome above is 6'6". Tonielli is ranked a 4-star to two sites, and close to it on ESPN, but Rivals is lagging behind. That might mean they haven't gotten around to whatever film Michigan found. Second row is my conversion of the rankings into a 5-star scale, linked to his profile:
Rivals: 6'5/215 | ESPN: 6'5/215 | 247: 6'6/215 | On3: 6'5/200 | 247 Comp |

4* , 90, NR Ovr #17 TE, #4 IL |

Alex will have a Hello this week.
Welcome aboard, Deakon! Looking forward to another in the long line of great Michigan TEs.
On another note, I just looked at the pictures in his tweet.
Can someone tell me what makes it "sensitive content?"
I don't see anything disparaging about EVs.
i dunno. spend much time with sparties? they're easily triggered
Welcome, Deakon!
I don’t recall see Deakins name before, Great to see a TE in the class
Deakon Weekond

"After going through our weight program, he'll be known as PREAST!!1!"
...er uh
ok quit while i'm behind
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide but we turned Deakon Blue.
I literally logged in to make a Steely Dan reference like this. Well done!
I saw a similar comment in the board post. I was very confused. Now I know it’s a reference to a song that I’ve never heard. I hope this doesn’t poison my algorithm now. It was a good play on words though.
Hopefully this is the first in a steady stream of commits over the next couple weeks. Not a bad idea to space them out, to let each kid have a little time in the spotlight and to allow Alex a little recovery time in between Hellos. 10k word posts are hard on the fingertips.
