Christian Dixon Has Committed To Michigan Comment Count

Brian June 25th, 2020 at 10:20 AM

CA WR Christian Dixon pulled the trigger on a commitment just an hour after Seth's extensively researched post went up, but the rest of us are pleased:

Seth will probably get over it. Dixon is a four star on the composite thanks to Rivals and ESPN ranking him inside their top 200s; 247 is more skeptical. He claims offers from a wide array of west coast schools including USC and Oregon along with Texas A&M, FSU, and LSU.

He's 6'2" and thus a bit of a departure from Michigan's WR recruiting under Gattis; more in a bit when Ace assembles the hello.

There is no content after the jump.

Misspelled name in the title and the post with the twitter embedded right there.

Is 6'2 is a departure from Gattis' WR recruiting when Markus Allen and Andrel Anthony are 6-2, Xavier Worthy and Lorenzo Styles are 6-1? Henning is really the only small guy (Wilson is 6-0 or so)

Cornelius Johnson is 6-3. George Johnson and Eamon Dennis are DB's.

Giles Jackson committed 4 months before Gattis was hired. Sainristil 2 months before.

I mentioned Henning and Wilson not being big guys. I'm just saying the way that comment reads, it makes it sound like Gattis has only gone after small quick guys for Speed in Space, but its been a mix and this years class has trended to be a little more of the outside receiver type.

His name is spelled "Cristian".  His mother's name is spelled "Christian".

Nice to have him join the mighty Wolverines! :)

Boom or bust prospect. Feels a lot like Kekoa Crawford 2.0 (I loved Crawford).

Had a big time sophomore year, transferred to Mater Dei and looked rather average...hence the drop in rankings.

Talks A LOT, some are going to love that...others are going to wish he waited to show it on the field. Every year he is at Michigan the chances of him guaranteeing a win over OSU goes up 25%. If he's here as a senior, don't act like you weren't warned...it's happening.

This ends the recruitment of Jayden Thomas out of Atlanta (who I liked quite a bit more as a prospect), they have very similar measurables and rankings.

However, full speed ahead with Xavier Worthy...maybe this Cali connection will help there. I personally think Worthy is a top 20 draft pick after 3 years if he can find the right system (bias aside, which feels like Michigan or Alabama given his skillset).

As for Dixon, the thing that gives me confidence in him is JJ McCarthy. If he had to play with Speight/O'Korn, this would be an awful fit. He's going to have an ELITE QB to get him the ball and a former WR coach as his OC. He's in a great position to develop into an ELITE WR. Can't ask for more.

AMAZING!  Runs great routes and has the instinct to wall off the defender.  Quick feet for his size.  Great addition to the class!  Gattis doing work!

Welcome to the family, Cristian.  GO BLUE!
