Got burnt on over aggressive defense in second half when we were up by 16. Should have played more prevent, but that apparently is not in the play book. Did not need to gamble on defense in the second half. Play call on the fumble by the tight end when he has never had a hand off in a live game is inexcusable. That fumble cost us the game, and it was a stupid call. Give it to the running backs, that is their job. USC then had too much momentum, and it was too late to stop it. Not a fan of trying to out dazzle the opponent with too many complex formations when you have a young qb who has too much to think about. We have better athletes, if we keep it simpler, we win on talent alone. No need to out dazzle when we have superior talent. People will point to the turnovers, but the bad calls that caused the first two touchdowns deflated our team, and game them unstoppable momentum. Bad coaching led to the collapse. The turnovers after that were a product of a shaken team, and a qb trying to press.

Interesting how this team cannot retain control of games they have control over. To me it's a combination of things but is mostly on the coaching. Players can be taught, when they are ahead,  to "play like your ahead" and grasp the moment and be difference-makers. Michigan has consistantly done the opposite...they loose their composure and play very mechanically when they should be playing with confidence and daring their opponent to make a play. I also believe the Michigan coaches are too nice-this is a tough, physical game.

I don't think that I've witnessed a greater degree of humiliation and an epic collapse since the ASU game. This is the end of year three and it looked like a Hoke squad today. It's time for some serious changes in this program and NOW.  Ban me if you want, but Michigan greats like Amani Toomer are 100% correct about what is happening.

Disappointing end befitting of the season. That was a hard watch and they need to pull everyone together over the offseason. Just too many mistakes to beat a team they were clearly more talented than. The turnovers and defensive collapse were a little disconcerting. On to next year!
