The Ace Pod 3.0: Funky Stuff Comment Count

Ace October 28th, 2020 at 7:21 AM

This episode, as always, is brought to you by the law offices of E. Jason Blankenship, who may be socially distanced from the courthouse but is still taking on clients. You can find his new website here.

SEGMENT ONE: RECURRING GUESTS! ALSO, FEELINGSBALL

Please join me in welcoming Connor Southard and Dan [REDACTED] aka “Thicc Stuaskas” as regular guests of the program. We lay out the podcast’s ethos: we’re going to enjoy this. Joe Milton emits extremely good vibes, as does the team in general.

SEGMENT TWO: LISTENER MAILBAG

Mel Tucker’s rivalry week bind. Any complaints about the offense? Bueller? How does the running backs room shake out? Yes, an incompletion was among the highlights of the night. More Milton hype. Not-so-rapidly firing several more questions, including our thoughts on Northwestern’s Big Ten West chances.

SEGMENT THREE: DAN’S RCMB SPECTACULARR

With bonus dramatic reading.

SEGMENT FOUR: BIG TEN WEEK TWO PICKS

For fans and degenerates alike.

Songs:

  • “I Found a New Way” — Twin Peaks
  • “Funky Stuff” — Jiro Inagaki and His Soul Media
  • “The Cool Change” — Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever

Do you call "mildly insufferable" an insult?  If so, then yes I did.  I'm not saying I'm not "mildly insufferable" but let's not be children.  We can have opinions and not be put on blast.  "Come on man" in the words of our next president.

I think Wisconsin plays this weekend. They are still favored. I would say odds are they go 2-0 in the next two games and are undefeated coming into Michigan. Wisconsin wins the East with easy. It was odd on the podcast that you guys seem to just assume the Wisconsin situation was a foregone conclusion

i follow a woman on twitter that does overly-dramatic readings of reddit 'am i the asshole' posts over overly-dramatic music.  they're delightful.

my point being - there might be a market for a rcmb version.  i might actually pay a couple bucks a month for someone to set their soul on fire and read the board for the choicest cuts.

Since I do podcast reviews here:

Positives

- Love the content.

- The addition of the two other voices was great. Pretty good chemistry already

- Good analysis and points made. I like the feelingsball niche. Good departure from play by play analysis

- Appreciate the focus on Football (I expected BBall when I saw AcePod and I'm one of those who is Football only mode until the season is over)

Negatives

- RCMB segment was about 75% too long. (Although I don't hate Sparty as much as most on these boards so that might be a caveat but seriously we get the point.)

- Mel Tucker is from Cleveland went to Wisconsin and was a grad assistant under Saban at MSU for 2 years. The way you guys were talking it sounded like the only thing you knew about him was that he coached at Colorado.

Overall 4/5. Will look forward each week

First time, long time... I just wanted to say I enjoyed this very much. I thought the whole group had a great vibe, and it was a fun listen while working. The RCMB stuff was great for some laughs while working away for The Man. Go Blue!
