Last year I made the observation that every Jake Moody and Brad Robinson field goal celebration was like a pair friendly cats saying hello to one another.

(I know the whole point of last week's MGPotG was that I don't remember a thing from that Indiana game but go with it).

Even last year's Nebraska game, a game that ultimately ended in a field goal to tie the game and another one to win it, there was no spectacular celebration. Just a head bump and acknowledgment that "we have done our job. We shall now reconcile on the sideline. Please leave a summon sign when we are needed again." Alex/Brian wanted celebration shots of Jake Moody for their gamer/columns and I didn't have one because... there wasn't one.

This would result in a series of tweets simply titled "mrrrp", the noise cats make when greeting one another. "Hello, friend. I shall bump you with my nose to signify we our friends. Let us now eat dry food together before our scheduled seven hour slumber, followed by 10 p.m. zoomies to keep the human awake."

I always wondered if they would do the same on a game winning field goal. A season-saving walk-off. How high would the stakes need to be for a full-on celebration? Even if they didn't, I would respect the hell out of maintaining decorum. It wouldn't mean you aren't excited or happy about the result, it's just your on-field composure and it is what it is. I am a Michigan fan at heart but I still try to maintain composure in stressful moments, so I get it.

This is also a scenario I never would have wanted to root for, just a curiousity. Maryland was the closest we've had to an emotional roller coaster for the entirety of a game this year and the final quarter was arguably not that bad.

Well, as it turns out...

PLEASE ENSURE THAT NEITHER OF THESE MEN PAY FOR A BEER AGAIN IN ANN ARBOR, THANK YOU [Patrick Barron]

The catnip taco has been torn to shreds and scattered across the floor. This duo, normally a professionally composed unit, celebrated like it was V-E Day, and rightfully so. It's not that they couldn't, they were just waiting for the right moment. A moment deserving of celebration. A moment that would warrant legend status.

Legends never die [Patrick Barron]

BUT

If you'd like to support us, one of the simplest things you can do is follow us on social media (links just below) where we post way more photos than here. In the offseason I also do a LOT of wildlife/national park photography. While we're not allowed to sell any of our sports photos per our credential agreement (sorry to anyone who reached out asking about one), I sell prints from my adventures which I sell on FineArtAmerica. You can buy prints (or just look at some pretty pictures) here: Patrick Barron Art Collections

[FRISBEE DOG IS BACK after THE JUMP]

I see a lot of big names on the sidelines. Juwan Howard is there every game. One time I casually passed by Charles Woodson. You pass by the likes of Flavor Flav, Tom Brady, Santa Ono, quite possibly the actual Santa Claus incognito, etc. I normally do a "well that was cool" grin and move on.

But this time I lost my own composure and screamed "VICTOR!!" at the sight of our favorite frisbee-catching friend. Love you, buddy. You're doing amazing. He's on Instagram as @VictorTheFrisbeeDog. This is not sponsored, I'm just telling you to follow.

Michigan's best receiver? [Patrick Barron]
So JJ can also outrun a [at the moment of this photo] healthy Blake Corum, as well, you say? [Bryan Fuller]

We ran this image through an AI caption generator and it has determined that he is upset that the Michigan Tunnel threw a pass interference flag at Illinois for a Michigan pick play. [Bryan Fuller]
The weekly "it was cool so just give it to him" this week resulted in 15 yards, at least. [Patrick Barron]
Someone photoshop a field of flowers below this because this is what frolicking looks like. [Patrick Barron]
