I remember Jimmy Clausen getting touted as "perhaps the best QB prospect...EVER!"

Yes, really.

And then there was Ron Powlus. And Ronald Curry.

It happens in football too.

But I thought Clausen was pretty good.  He also played the majority of his final season with an injury that I'm sure was extremely painful.  Had he played for a more talented team, he would have racked up more W's.  Clausen was a cocky little shit that didn't become John Elway, but he wasn't exactly Xavier Lee.

The first time I heard of Terrance Roberson was when he won a Gus Macker dunk contest as a 6'8" eighth grader.  He had great high school career but a somewhat average college career at Fresno St and never really cracked the NBA.  Probably would have been a youtube phenom too if there was such a thing back in the day.

AAU Basketball is about as dirty as it gets. Players change teams all the time because of the benefits of playing for a team. I remember a kid who was supposed to come to my high school but his AAU coach threatened to kick him off the team if he left his old school, he stayed at his school and was all league the next 2 years.

Jared Wilson Frame. One of the top freshman in New England. Plays varsity for Windsor (#2 team in the state [CT]) and would probably be starting if he was here at the beginning of the season (grade issues). But he is 6'4 200 pounds with guard skills and great vision. He has a lot of athleticism too. He has already been in ESPN Magazine too. Quite a talent if he can keep his head on straight. But he isn't a bad kid that would get into lots of trouble.
