Hope I'm not too late to the party.
I don't know if your particular security policy will allow it, but Google Chrome Frame is a plugin for IE (including IE 6) that uses Chrome's rendering engine for the html and javascript inside of Internet Explorer. If you were able to install it, you could just enable it for mgoblog and it should solve your problems.
Alternatively Brian (or his brother) could enable a meta-tag that will automagically force browsers that have Chrome Frame installed to use that rendering engine over IE's (which is a good thing).

I use Firefox Portable at work - it doesn't require any admin rights to install and works like a charm. You can even get a beta of FF4 if you want.
