"Desmond Howard believes Gator Bowl outcome could affect Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez's job status"

“Unfortunately, the patience or tolerance level is becoming like the pros. They anticipate you do it sooner. … Look at Rich, he’s shown improvement with the offense at Michigan. But they have to improve on defense or the improvements won’t matter. I think it takes four years for a system and personnel to match.”

the odds are pretty good you have seen alums (most of whom played for Lloyd) working out with Barwis or fellow staffers, training on their own or even just hanging out. They sure looked welcome and comfortable to me.

I think the decision whether to keep RR or not may be as simple as the team winning or losing the bowl - with the additional practices allowed due to the bowl game and the additional time for (most) everyone to heal - we are getting awful close to put-up or shut-up time. While the summer will certainly give the team members the opportunity to put on some weight and get stronger, it seems to me that the players, having just completed a full season, should be at their peak.

Personally I really hope the team has the goods as I would much prefer RR to keep his job... a signature win would be terrific about now.
