OT: WAC Expansion on hold?
ESPN has an article out that the WAC had decided not to expand despite being only 8 teams, following the loss of Boise State to the Mountain West.
This makes me wonder, how would the WAC expand? Does it poach the Sun Belt? I doubt they'd be able to poach from Conference USA. That seems like a downward movement for any CUSA team involved. I'd have to assume they go after the UL pair. Louisiana Tech is so isolated from the rest of the conference, I'd almost find it amazing if the Sun Belt could poach LT away.
Could the Sun Belt even do that? Does the WAC gain anything by waiting? Is the prospect of Montana moving to FBS a big enough draw to wait?
I was just looking over this list:

North Texas of the Sun Belt might be a candidate. In the Big Sky, which would appear to have several candidates, Idaho State would go nicely with Idaho and Boise State. I don't know much about the academic reputations of any candidates.
Until Montana is ready to make the jump, I don't see any 1-AA school that is gonna move up to move into the WAC, until UTSA makes its eventual jump to 1-A 5 or 6 years down the road.
dude idaho state sucks in the fcs i dont think they'd be a good fbs fit also webber state could be an option.
Shouldn't it start first before they put it on hold?
