Keep it moving Kenny. Vanek, Sheahan. Burn this thing to the ground.
If this is true on Vanek, I'm am *REALLY* underwhelmed!

P.S. Also seeing mention of getting a Florida prospect: Dylan Mcllrath. Still underwhelmed.
I never heard the name Dylan McIlrath before but on a quick internetz look around he appears to be basically a younger version of Brendan Smith, but with Ericsson's size. BIG guy, nonexistent offense, still only 24. Let's hope he doesn't have Ericsson's penchant for turnovers.
Edit: Michigan connection - Florida got him from NYR in November for Steve Kampfer and a shitty draft pick. NYR, of course, just acquired Smith. Appears we're playing a game of "let's put no-scoring defensemen on a merry-go-round." At least we ended up with the youngest and biggest one.
We got D Dylan McIlrath as well.
I wish we could have gotten more for Vanek. I was thinking a 2nd rounder bare minimum but once LA shifted towards Ignla it really put FL as the only destination left. Its underwhelming indeed but the market was starting to dry up.
The kid is 6'5! He was the #10 overall pick in the 2010 draft so at one point he was a highly touted prospect. He still hasn't played much in the NHL. 38 games in total
A large and physical defenseman. Positions himself men. Not a very good skater. Has a good shot from the blue line. Needs to improve his skating.
meaning all the teams were willing to pass on taking him for free.
...looks like it will end with a thud. Also reading tweets that are saying the Red Wings are done for the day.
I didn't know that. That's not the best news I've heard all day.
The kid can definitely fight tho. I like our D not being a total bunch of pu$$ies
If the Panthers make the playoffs, the pick goes from Florida's third-rounder in 2017 to Arizona's third-rounder that the Panthers acquired in the Lawson Crouse trade.
With the abundance of picks we should be able to land several 1st rounders if Kenny is wheeling and dealing in the draft.
