Yes, you are probably the only one.

Probably. He's a personality, and his act is hilarious unless you're Bill O'Reilly (are you?) NBC and Costas handled it well, including a remark to the effect of "Stephen sustained no serious injuries" when they came back from commercial.

so lame that this board negs for unpopular opinions. i've seen it happen to other people, but you only grasp its level of profound suck when it happens to you.

Nope. Although I have always been puzzled as to what makes people think he is funny in the first place.

The show was in its first year. Didn't take you very long...
People either like Colbert's shtick or they don't. I suppose it could be an acquired taste, but I don't think it works the other way around. The idea that you "got tired of that guy" doesn't really pass the smell test. His character is a caricature and his show is satire. For people who find him funny, Colbert is a comedic genius who continues to innovate -- for people who don't find him funny, well, he's not.
Regardless, Colbert's support for the U.S. Olympic team and his trip to Iraq last year were meant to transcend politics, and should be taken as such, at face value.

"The players relate to me, because I provided them with cash. Thats the kind of bond that you just can't get by being competent."
priceless.
