Lacrosse Falls to #19 Penn State, 14-9, Season Over
Lacrosse finished up their season today with a 14-9 loss at Penn State. The Nittany Lions jumped out to an early lead and Michigan couldn't really keep up.
After winning 5 games each of the last two years, Michigan finishes 3-10 on the season and on an 8 game L streak (they haven't won a game since March 5th). They dropped a lot of close games and we can only wonder what could've been. Guess we'll have to wait til next year.
Michigan had to deal with some injuries to key players which may have cost them some games. But, injuries can't explain bad mistakes that cost them other games. This season very easily could've gone the other way.
But, with a decent crop of seniors on the way out and a team that still hasn't enjoyed any success, the present state of the program is pretty discouraging. They'll have to make some changes for next year. Can't wait til I can watch them in the NCAAs and Final 4 - maybe one day...
Go Blue!

Man this is hard to watch...we seem to have regressed. These guys need a good Harbaughing.

just turned it over and saw 3 PSU goals in a few minutes. welp, guess they have to beat us at something. look forward to our program maturing a bit to compete on a national level.

Already getting run over in the 2nd quarter. Ridiculous.
Jackson and King don't play defense. That's not an excuse. Hope Warde actually makes a decision and stops the bleeding.

If we can keep our guys out of the penalty box, we might be OK. Just cut the led to 8-4 with less than four left in the 2nd.

Good transition goal for U-M after a nice defensive stand 8-5
Lucky goal for us 9-6 with about 20 seconds left in half. Now HT 9-6 bad guys.
you have to think that next year is make or break for the coach.
Without Logan, this year would have been a disaster.
Injuries only explain part of the problem, they will never compete seriously with top teams as long as they play defense this poorly.
You think they'l give him another year?
about how the new AD approaches these kind of decisions.
Not necessarily directly comparable, but he wasn't on the change wagon for Berenson.
From a non-watchers perspective, it sure seems like Michigan should be much better than we are. I've been hearing about us recruiting excellently for such a new program for 3 or 4 years and yet we are still terrible. Doesn't seem like JP is the guy
10-8 PSU early in third...GO BLUE!
No huge complaint on the refs, but they called a few ticky tacky ones on M in Q1, then this one.
They missed an obvious one last time down on PSU.

B1G women's league is the toughest one in sports. At least they're actually improving their win total every year and not regressing. At least they've come close to winning conference games and beating ranked teams.
That's a hell of a lot more than can be said about JP's crew.

the program is new and all I really wanted to see was improvement from year to year and that has not happened. While I applaud JP getting the program to the Div 1 level I think its time for a change
