Michigan Hockey vs Ohio State Open Thread
#6 Michigan vs Ohio State
7:30pm Yost Ice Arena
No TV, BTN+
While (most likely) safely in the NCAA Tournament, Michigan needs help to win the Big Ten Championship. 1 pt behind Minnesota with 4 games left....winning out is the only realistic way they stand a chance to raise a banner for a B1G Regular Season Title...
Minnesota 1, Michigan State 1 in the first period as of this thread creation
Mel put in the time, too, and a lot more of it.
That's exactly what it is. Rivals said Wiseman is getting a ton of support from the players.
Though, Michael Spath is a shill for Brian Wiseman and Billy Powers, I've been told.
We cannot bungle this hire. Unlike Football that is a mainstream sport, if Hockey takes a nosedive like Football did with those bungled hires, people won't protest on lawns. They just won't come to the games and it will be the 1980s all over again.
This hire must be the right one.
Enrico Blasi has actually also been mentioned as a candidate by Rivals. I think that'd be a stellar hire, but the former players seemed mixed on the idea.
You did and I should've included it.
That would go over like RR did with former players, I'm sure.
Harbaugh will get Pearson. He wants winners.
WTF?! 5-min major?!?!
4:02 2nd | Boka draws a 5-minute major for interference. OSU will head to the extended PP. (MICH 2, OSU 5) #GoBlue

58 sec left on the penalty.
The horror .... the horror ...
There's a few autobids so if we move down to 13 or 14 we'd be on the bubble.
Shame disgust and embarassment at this team...
watching would be worse.
thanks to you guys for posting scores, otherwise i/many of us wouldn't know the deal.
Listening to this crappy game isn't that much better. Al & Bill were mystified by the penalty, so I don't know what the deal with that was. I didn't even know interference could be a major.
Can Red just quit now. Does he know how bad of a job hes done the last five years with this talent???? I dont blame the studs going to NHL than being a loser with him.
He said if the team wasn't doing well and he wasn't doing as good of a job as he used to that he'd walk away.

I want Minny coach guy knows how to win the Big Ten..
Eh. Minny is not the greatest either. Going after a rising eastern coach would be my pick if the Pearson thing falls through.

Because he has no reference point on Michigan hockey. If it's not a win, it isn't good enough. When the team wins, it's like nothing ever happened.
Also see his little routine over at USCHO where he tries to act like an insider on the potential coaching search, which basically just boils down to the fact that he's heard of Danton Cole and is aware that Mel Pearson used to coach here.
Dude, your selective saltiness when it comes to the hockey program is well documented, and totally ridiculous.
This sucks, but it's one game.
It's not one game. It's happened all year long.
Dude. we've given up 5 plus goals to Ohio State three times this year. 5 plus goals to Wisconsin twice and also lost to MSU. Thank god we have the CCM line. This is after missing 4 straight tournaments. At some point don't we have a right to be upset? I know our coach had 2 national champinships in the 90s it's clear that our coaches can't coach right now. Dylan Larkin was a NHL all star and Kyle Connor will probably be too and we can't win with them.
Calderone!!! 6-3 them.
We want MOAR goals!!!
Boka!!!! 6-4 them!!!!

I have no fucking clue. They're making shit up.
After review, the call on the ice is overturned due to goalie interference. The score remains 6-3 OSU. https://t.co/OVjeaDOuOl

I don't get to watch a lot of college hockey being in L.A., but I do watch a lot of pro hockey. Forgive me if the rules are different, but in what universe is that goalie interference? I mean, stick was up, okay. No skate was in the crease.
All officials should have to publicly explain any controversial decision.
In the Fuck Michigan/Big Ten+x refs universe, apparently.
Major penalty on them. We needz PPGs.
Calderone!!!! 6-4 them!!!!
