My mom got me and my brother out of a war-torn country, but my father couldn't leave for political reasons.  After several years, he made it to the US.  I remember not recognizing him at the airport, but when he hugged me, I broke down in tears (happiness, sadness, fear, all rolled in one).  The mind of a 10 year old kid is a strange thing.  Still such a vivid memory for me.

Other than the obligatory wife/kid options:

1. 18th Birthday - played rugby, scored 23 of 27 points in a last minute victory.  My dad bought me my first legal (I'm australian) beer.  Had great  party with friends, went home and scored with my girlfriend at the time.  Great day!

2. University day - at college I always had a principle that if I saw 3 hot girls I wanted to sleep with before 9am, it was going to be a good day.  This day started that way, then I went to work and got a pay rise, got mid-term results where I punished the exam.  Finally went out drinking with buddies.

3. 1st live michigan game.  I became a fan of Michigan in 2008 after moving to the US the previous year.  I made my first foray to Ann Arbor to see UM play ND when Tate was QB in 2009.  My twin bro was with me visiting from the UK and didn't care about the result as we started, but end up a massive fan after that experience.  On the flight up the night before I bumped into another UM fan who invited me to tailgate with him the next day, did so, had an amazing pre-game experience, awesome game with last minute win, goose flesh experience with the crowd singing "its great...to be...a michigan wolverine" on the way out... and awesome evening.  Gotta say it was a good day.

All three of these days have been characterised by a feeling that this is MY day, that everything is going to go MY way and it did.  Best three days of my life.  When days like this happen it rocks.  They are rare (1 every ~10 years) but awesome!

1997 at the Rose bowl winning the National Championship..ELECTRIC atmosphere and the Michgian Crowd was the best Ive ever seen AND at UCLA watching Michigan score 10 points in the waning moments and watching JD Carlson kick the winning FG as time ran out..there was a HUGE Michigan crowd at that came and I screamed and yelled so much that I was hoarse for a week afterwards...
