Hard to argue with that.
Well played sir
Moscow was the wildest place to be in the 90s. Yeltsin, an alcoholic populist, was ostensibly in charge, which meant anything goes. The wildest bars on earth. mob controlled casinos and nightclubs. Suitcases of cash going through Sheremetyevo. Life was fast, dangerous, and cheap. Fuck the awful music, background noise to a world waking up and throwing out the rules. I got my PhD from UM and moved to Eastern Europe to "consult " and it was like going through a wormhole to an alternate universe. For breaks I would fly to Japan to see my wife and son, a country in the midst of its own slow motion train wreck economic decline. The 90s were a transformative decade that had little to nothing to do with the lame music and mediocre film scene in the US.
Good God... That sounds like an amazing experience.
I miss when I didn't have to wipe my own ass.
Same year Biakabutuka ran for over 3 dollars against ohio. Good times!
was the stuff. When I got out of Elementary school to watch it, and watching Michigan games on PBS, Pokemon card collecting and playing Nintendo 64.
My parents didn't want to spring for cable when I was growing up, which meant a totally different set of cartoons than Nickelodeon's offerings:
But Nickelodeon had much better shows. Rocko's Modern Life was my go-to
Best decade for TV that will never be topped. I've been watching every season of Friends on Netflix the last few weeks. Really hope Seinfeld makes it's way on there eventually.
The State on MTV, 'nuff said
