Recruit says Malzone top QB currently
Top 100 Bishop Luers, IN WR Austin Mack (6'2 205lbs) visited this weekend. He had extremely high praise of Harbaugh (as per usual), Fisch, and staff. He is deciding June 7th and his top group is Mich, OSU, MSU, Tenn, Vandy. He said he will visit again before his decision and will bring his parents that time.
What was more interesting about his reaction, however, was him saying that Alex Malzone is the starting quarterback in practice. He was discussing the fact that this staff doesn't care what year you are in, the best player will play. This could be truth, misinterpretation, or recruiting tactics. I found it to be an interesting quote from someone we know for a fact took in all of Saturday's practice.
Couple this with the statement from user HarbaughorBust in the earlier "Speight v. Malzone" thread that Morris is the clear leader right now. The only certainty is uncertainty, at this point. Obviously, we won't know anything concrete until August.
I appreciate the tidbits and opinions, but I think we will know a little after the spring game, yet a lot more once fall practice begins.
In the meantime, we wait.
Of The Wolverine, who opined that Shane Morris was the best of the three over the weekend in controlled scrimmages.
Morris really did a nice job stepping up in the pocket per Balas.
Speight had a very shaky day.
Malzone had two really bad interceptions.
Just sayin'
Matt Godin likely out the rest of spring with a knee injury and Isaac is missing time for a second injury. The first was a hand/wrist type injury and the second a hamstring injury.
So much conflicting information. I can't wait until the spring game. Then we will have more information and actually get to see the players in action...and we'll still know nothing.
Still, I will read every one of these threads. I don't have a problem.
It will be interesting to see who the first QB picked will be as well as the second. If you are third, well.......I guess that will tell us who is truly trailing going into summer workouts.
