They have deployed their minions across twitter, most likely the friends and or family of those working on this awful thing. Also, their lackys have began posting (fake) comments on the video to try to drown out the negative responses.

Together, we can do this.

to get someone else to write the song. They want to use SG money to hire people who otherwise don't want to write the song to write it for people who don't want to hear it, so they can be at the center of all of it using somebody else's money. It does all sound sort of Loch-doggy, wow-factor to me.

Part of me almost feels bad at this point about the amount of anger/attention this idea is getting.  It has been DOA since it was announced, but now it feels like some zombie that keeps getting clicks and is "part of the discussion" when it would have simply faded away had it been left alone.

It was a dumb idea put forth by college kids who, I'm guessing, thought it would be a nice resume boost and, maybe, a chance to be a part of UM history.  The tone-deafness is troubling, but at some point it needs to just be left alone to die a natural death.

keeps calling this annoyance "dumb." I would call it meritless, clever and impudent. Plenty of bad ideas have advanced a certain ways because nobody took their potential seriously before they had acquired momentum; pace Edmund Burke, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." I'm supposing the perps behind this have been lacking for a certain kind of feedback in the past. For all we know, they may actually be pleased at the level of stink their stunt is provoking. At any rate, they sought attention; now they are getting it.

As someone pointed out in the comments of the Youtube video, the narcissistic assclown that's heading this dumb idea puts himself in the video at the 35 second mark. What a tool, along with every other self-indulgent person trying to put his name on this. All of those AW selfies just confirm this.

I don't understand this one bit... the hype video shows the band.  Which is what we want in the first place!

Who the hell did Adam Weiss beat to get accepted to Michigan?!!

Despite the unbelievable lameness of this enterprise, and the arrogance  of its advocates, it's still a relatively free country, and this project isn't illegal. Therefore, there's a chance it'll get finished despite each and all of our opposition to it.

It will also fail, as projects of this kind inevitably do, and everyone involved will have lost their money.

I remember back in the 70s or 80s, some dumbass had the idea to create a Frank Sinatra style song about Detroit, like "New York, New York" and "Chicago." It was predictably awful, and was ignored upon its release. I doubt anyone cares about it now.

That is what will happen to this ridiculous idea, too.

The last time I attended a Lions game, they still played in the Silverdome.  Anyway, after a scvore (which wasn't often), they played some Lions fight song.  It sounded more opera than fight song.  Do the Lions still do that?
