U.S. Army All-American Bowl open thread

Submitted by Magnus on

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is being played today at 1:00 p.m. EST on NBC. Unfortunately, Michigan has zero commits playing in the game, but there are several targets, some former commits, and a couple guys who could end up at Michigan before all is said and done.

I've listed Michigan's offered prospects here:

The players making commitments today are:

WR Lawrence Cager
TE Devonaire Clarington
DT Neville Gallimore
CB Tim Irvin
WR Stanley Norman
DE Kyle Phillips
WR Ykili Ross
S Marvell Tell
DE D'Andre Walker

I can honestly say that I've heard of nobody on that commit list posted in op. I've wanted to stay away from recruiting so yay! However, you can't frequent the board without hearing about a kid coming or going so to not know ANY of those kids feels strange. I'll take it as a positive that for the first time since about '02 I don't know the favorite color, food, etc of every recruit on our radar lol.

It seems like it has been a weird year for following Michigan recruiting. For the first time since I started paying a ton of attention to it (in the mid 2000's), there just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of buzz about these guys in the Michigan blogosphere. I think there was a time back in the spring where things were building, but when the season started and things looked iffy, the recruits started to back off. Then we went a month without a coach.

Now, even with a coach in place, he hasn't extended any new offers. Add that to the fact that Michigan only has 6-10 more spots to fill, and it's just not a big year for us in 2015 (so far). Harbaugh could finish strong here in the next month, but I agree that there's been less buzz. I've still watched film on a bunch of the guys in the OP because I'm a nerd like that, but oh well.

will do well at OSU

wish him luck, can't blame him for his choice. Kid wants to get to the league, UM has not been developing players the past 8 to 10 yrs

His style is perfect for JH and UM now but highly doubt he decommits from OSU now with all th ehype they are getting, they are winning and soon to play in the NC game

Ohio needs to get out of Cass, they're starting to piss me off. Weber was too impatient to wait and see who UM would hire. Being 17-18, I don't really blame him. Brian Cole and his dad handled the situation with class. He's a special athlete. Porter Gustin seems to be an USC lean from what I've read. He's def a west coast kid
