OT: Soldier Field experiences

Thinking about going to Sunday's game vs the Lions. I have never been there. What's everyone's experience been like?

Denard goes for 503 yards in South Bend and Calvin Johnson's infamous non-catch touchdown in 2010.

Winning both away games in such heart wrenching fashion for Domers and Bears' fans would have been glorious.

Oh well. Nothing much to add, Chicago loves the Bears and if you're not a jerk you'll be fine. If you're looking for a fight, you will find one though.

Go Lions!

I was there for a Lions game last year and was sitting in front of a bunch of Lions fans who were not with us.  The Lions fans were loud and obnoxious, but appropriately so (if that makes any sense); they weren't being dicks, just funny.  Everyone had a good time and the ribbing with Bears fans back and forth was good natured.  It was all spirited and fun, like I would imagine a game is supposed to be, but who knows anymore.  Deadspin seems to have a fight in the stands every week.  Otherwise, Soldier Field was great, even for a visiting team's fan.  Lots of walking, though, as others have mentioned.

Soldier Field is small but the sightlines are generally very good - you always feel close to the action.  The tailgating is good, but the stadium can be a pain to get to.  Dress for the weather - being so close to the lake, it can get chilly in the stadium.

I'm not sure how they'll be now with the Bears being so bad, but watch out for the Bears fans.  I mind my own business and don't do anything to agitate others...but I've been spit on, cursed at, and offered fights on multiple occasions.  I don't go to Soldier Field much anymore just because I don't like putting up with that stuff and don't want to give my money to that organization.
