What happened on "The Fumble?"

Submitted by MGoFoam on

Does anyone know what, exactly, happened when Funchess ran into the snap? I was at the game and was watching the play clock run down. It was just about 0 when the ball was snapped. Was Gardner late bringing Funchess in motion? Was Funchess late starting in motion? Did Miller snap on his own because he knew the play clock was about out? It didn't look like Funchess was expecting a direct snap (though that would have been pretty cool). Was it Brandon's fault?

was actually playing for something.  What the hell is Funchess playing for?  A birth in the Toilet bowl?  Yeah, he SHOULD be playing for his draft stock, and I can't imagine why that alone isn't motivating him, but in terms of team goals, they have all been napalmed and buried in the rubble at this point.

Not saying he shouldn't be playing harder, but comparing him to anyone playing in 1997 is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison, don't you think?

I was at the game and early on in that play one of the Michigan coaches (wearing white) was jumping up and down at the line of sacrimmage yelling and waving his arms. Finally, Funchess noticed and started in motion.

Despite not wearing head phones, Hoke did not hear me screaming, "Call a time out" from Row 61.

More coaching failure.
