IFAF World Championship USA vs Mexico Open Thread
Made this extremely late I apologize I just learned about it.
IFAF is the International Federation of American Football
4th Quarter just started and America leads Mexico 28-14. Through all my google-fu and resources I am unable to find a video feed of the game but I have a live stats page that is active. http://www.sajl-tilastot.net/IFAFU19WC/GAMEB1/xlive.htm

This stream kinda works
Looks like this was just the first game of a three team pool schedule
· Monday, July 7 – 1 p.m. (ET) vs. Mexico
· Thursday, July 10 – 4 p.m. (ET) vs. Germany
· Sunday, July 13 – 4 p.m. (ET) vs. Japan
Gonna have to keep that champagne (or sparkling grape juice) on hold.
Damn.
How many points for a draw?
They let Landon Donovan play so that he could at least be in some kind of "World" championship thingie.
Suck it, Jurgen.
Team is a mix of high school, junior college, and college underclassmen.
4yr-College teams include:
- North Carolina State
- Ball State
- Northwest Missouri State
- Humboldt State
- Valdosta State
- Lehigh
- Williams
- Occidental
- Indiana State
- Marist
- Pittsburg State
Head coach is a former Rutgers LB/S
I didn't recognize any names and there is no one on the team from the state of Michigan.
Full roster to include coaching staff - http://usafootball.com/blogs/u.s.-national-team/post/8733/usa-football-…
That's...ummmmm....not a good list for NC State to be a part of.
The NC State player is a kicker who will be on their team this coming season. He just graduated HS.
There is a guy from Penn State on the roster:
64 |
Zaire Hollerway |
DT |
6-2 |
296 |
Penn State |
Philadelphia, Pa. |
Google search says he is going into his senior year of HS
I think we've officially hit the nadir of Open Threads with this one.
I was very excited for football in July even if it is a quick tournament.
Apparently quite a few countries do. Here are the power ranking for the teams that qualified. http://i.imgur.com/vjsMSfw.jpg
I struggle to take this tournament seriously when the US isn't steamrolling everyone by 70. If we cared about it, there would be no competition
I think there has to be some rules that say we can't throw in the #1 players from all the big schools in there. Fair competetion and whatever.
The real reason America won? Mexico's QB was Mark Sanchez.
Only because Ron Mexico was otherwise engaged.
Does Uncle Rico have any Mexican citizenship? We all know how far he can throw it.
Saw on Twitter that Canada beat Kuwait 91-0 or something like that.
