Could Quinten Johnson be returning after all?

Title pretty much says it...I suppose you can withdraw from the draft if you haven't hired an agent?

However, Michigan football could be getting a key piece back in the secondary and that's Quinten Johnson. This might be confusing since he declared for the NFL draft, but Chris Balas of The Wolverine reports that a return is in the works.

It's unclear if Johnson would need a waiver or if a final decision has been made, but his return would be huge for the Michigan Wolverines secondary.

It would be beneficial to the players if there was an advisory board just like there is in the NBA where players could test the waters, receive a draft grade, and then make their final decision.

That would be great if true. Quentin probably doesnt have a lot of pro potential and we'd certainly benefit in having another veteran safety with Sabb walking

This would be great news. I don’t see why he would need a waiver.

2019 - RS

2020 - Covid

2021 - RS Freshman

2022 - RS Sophomore

2023 - RS Junior

2024 - RS Senior

Anyone know the current scholarship count? I understand there’s ways around the 85 cap, but I would guess we are under by a few and will be somewhat aggressive in the post-spring portal window.

Even if he wants to come back, I fully expect the NCAA to do what it can to fuck Michigan over and deny him the opportunity. Just because.

They already did with Lee Aliya. Might as well go for gusto.

He also has played on all of the special teams units.  Getting his experience and leadership back would be a plus.  Team player.  National Champion!

Yeah, I remember people at the time saying Johnson may not have submitted the paperwork in time for the draft, or there was some uncertainty around it, so not a huge surprise he might be back especially if Sabb is gone.
