Why all the UM hatred ?

Unfortunately the media manipulators are still hard at it controlling the talking points.. Most average fans don't look at the details. The see the title of an article and run with it. There was actually an article today that Michigan was too emotional after the win and playing the whoa is me.

i would really like to understand who has such an agenda against JH and such an obvious hatred for UM. Regardless of what they do on the field, that faction's talking points are going to try to diminish any accomplishments. Is hatred/jealousy mostly among fellow big ten coaches ? Has it spread nationally ?If so why ? Is it a psy ops orchestrated by Ryan Day?

Whether its sports or some other topic, these days people don't bother with details. They repeat talking points which eventually makes it true in the public spectrum. All UM can do is keep winning. AND LEAVE THE BIG TEN !! The hatred maybe national. But its definitely  the worst in our own backyard.

I’ve always asked why the hatred going back before I went to Michigan.  It was as if the OSU and Woody and Notre Dame (I grew up 40 miles from SB and hated them) were all Gods with no faults and Big Blue and Bo were the evil ones.  I believe it started way back then maybe even earlier in the 20th century.  What seems to have happened is Big Blue in all ways dropped the hall in finding a way to push back from a marketing sense and that seems to continue these days.   So what does Michigan do now, push back with Michigan vs Everybody, make it clear from every person at Michigan every opportunity that it is Michigan vs Everybody.  Anything less regardless of outcome is giving in to those b…tards spouting lies and untruths.   Big Blue may not win because the outcome with the B10 and NCAA is rigged but we will engage our vast alumni and our teams in a scorched earth policy as we really have no other choice.  Go Blue BET Michigan vs Everybody onward and upward.

Michigan has always been one of the perennial hated teams in the country. Maybe not most hated, but you are always sure to get an eye roll or the ever so original "Hey you have some crap on your hat" from someone if you wear Michigan gear in public no matter where you are. Couple that with the usual hatred for which ever team is considered to be "the best" that year and you have a perfect storm.

That's how the media works. Most people wouldn't hate or love their preferred political candidates as much as they do if it weren't for the media shaping their view or whatever peer group they have incentives to be aligned with and pressure to align with. It's deep in our tribal animal brain. Most people read that Michigan cheated and they accept that at face value and their social circle does too to the degree they even care.  The same people hear someone called racist or the pejorative du jour and take that at face value.  Issues are often complicated and it takes real work to have informed opinions while staying open to other view points.  Topics like COVID, Trump, Israel/Palestine simply cannot be discussed in good faith among the average person.  That's why this blog doesn't allow them among other reasons. Many people simply cannot separate their opinions and thoughts from their identity and feel real psychological pain. Harbaugh is in a similar category as these issues within the sphere of college football. Don't expect any rational well thought out conversation.
