After a big win but a 2nd straight week of not blowing out an opponent, UM retains the #4 spot in the AP poll but just barely. In total votes, we’re 3 ahead of Clemson. To put that in perspective, both OSU at #3 and USC at #6 are more than 100 points away from us or Clemson. Here’s to destroying the Hoosiers and giving ourselves some breathing room.

Bama also hops Georgia to retake the top spot (by 2 votes!). The other B1G school in the top 25 is Penn State at #10. Maryland, Minnesota, Illinois, and Purdue all received some votes.

  1. Alabama (25)
  2. Georgia (28)
  3. Ohio State (10)
  4. Michigan
  5. Clemson
  6. USC
  7. Oklahoma State
  8. Tennessee
  9. Ole Miss
  10. Penn State
  11. Utah
  12. Oregon
  13. Kentucky
  14. NC State
  15. Wake Forest
  16. BYU
  17. TCU
  18. UCLA
  19. Kansas
  20. Kansas State
  21. Washington
  22. Syracuse
  23. Mississippi State
  24. Cincinnati
  25. LSU

Also receiving votes: Washington State 91, Baylor 88, Florida State 78, Arkansas 76, James Madison 39, Florida 37, Maryland 25, Coastal Carolina 17, Minnesota 14, Tulane 9, Illinois 6, North Carolina 5, Texas A&M 4, Purdue 2, Oklahoma 2

If somebody would have told me during the Covid 2020 season with all the cancels and losses, that a year later we'd be lifting the Silver Football trophy and beat osu - and in 2022 start off as well as we have so far, I would have said - - You are CRAZY.

- - Being ranked #4 at this time is a gift.

Hopefully, we can keep this momentum for several years.

Go Blue!

The beauty of these college football media and coaches polls is that they don't matter.

If they want to put Clemson #4 and Michigan #5 it's fine with me.  Don't care.

Just win and everything will take care of itself.  The polls will follow.
