OT: Washington star player tears his Achilles
I don’t know how good he is, but it’s notable since this likely means he would miss the game against Michigan.

Losing outside linebacker Laiatu Latu is big as well. Had to medically retire
I was going to mention Latu as well. He was a top 100 recruit a couple of years ago and got a lot of PT as a true freshman.
Between Latu and ZTF, Washington is losing a lot of pass rush talent, though they are still stout on the d-line.
They for sure still have some hogs. I like our OL, lots of stars/talent there, I think it will be a good matchup
It's a big loss for Washington. Lake is a defensive coach so they'll likely figure out ways to compensate, but on a team with only 10 sacks last year he had 7.
They have a frosh 5* Sav’ell Smalls right behind him but I’ll take that over an experienced star any day.
I see this injury a key setback to the Washington Defense. Without the Husky leading pass rusher, the plan in the latest spring practice is to use M.J. Tafisi a backup inside linebacker to come off the edge on passing downs. Clearly the coaches have some ground to make up. Too bad for the loss the young man, but its time fate shined on us. Give our QB time to throw and it can make a big difference in the outcome of this game. With some momentum who knows how this season can shake out.
I've thought each year that we are so overdue to have a QB free of injuries. This just may be the year if the OL can find their footing.
That's a nasty injury for a 20 year old kid. I hope he makes a full recovery. Wish he had a chance to play at the Big House.
