Predictions: Purdue

Submitted by LS And Play on

The 4 game march to a Big Ten championship begins tonight. Purdue always seems to play Michigan tough, even with inferior competition. Whether they keep it close today probably depends on whether A.J. Hammons shows up or disappears, as he is prone to do. The good guys prevail tonight, 74-62. Predictions?

Everyone is saying all the right things and everyone knows this is a trap game, but still, I have that sick nervousness. It's a trap game.

Hammons usually isn't will he or won't he against us - for whatever reason, he always seems to show against us. And he's way more talented than either of our bigs. Purdue, with nothing to lose, at home, getting the conference leader in their building - terrifying.

This team, as great as they have been, still struggles to identify and guard the shooter - see wide open threes by Trice and Harris even in the second half of last game. On at least one of those, Glenn allowed himself to get caught up inside and left his man wide open. That Stephens kid on Purdue can shoot, and if we don't identify him on the perimeter and guard him,  they could get on a dangerous roll against us.

I'm hoping this team has turned the corner and really is as focused on Purdue as they say they are - so I still want to say win - but there's plenty to fear tonight.
