Tonight in Brentwood, TN, Junior Colson and Ravenwood will host JJ McCarthy and IMG Academy.  I expect to see IMG destroy Ravenwood, but it will be good to see Junior on National TV.  9PM East / 8PM Central on ESPN.

The refs are giving this Ravenwood team the best spots, lol...it's not even close.

I feel like I'm watching Remember The Titans.

(Also shocked, but not really, that their student section is allowed to pack in with no social distancing).

An IMG kid runs out if bounds with :35 seconds, they let it run down to :21 seconds and then reset the clock to :26 seconds.

Hahaha, this is not a coincidence anymore. They just don't care.

I have watched portions of 3 of the IMG games this year and their team defense looks pretty bad for a #1 team in the country.  They have a bunch of plays where their superior talent wins one on ones but coverage if they don’t get pressure etc. just looks bad to me.  Can anyone who is more familiar with the current HS game tell me if I am off base here?

4:50 left in game and some Michigan on Michigan violence with Colson sacking McCarthy and then hitting him on the very next play. He had a couple of fake punt conversions too.

I found his stats. 16-32-193 and 1 TD.
Aside from his first game he’s not put up big numbers.  He has something like 640 yards and 7 TDs in 3 games while completing a little over 50% of his passes.

I found his stats. 16-31-193 and 1 TD.
Aside from his first game he’s not put up big numbers.  He has something like 640 yards and 7 TDs in 3 games while completing a little over 50% of his passes.

12-22-154 and a TD in game 2

23-37-333 and 5 TDs in game 1

So he’s 51-90-650 with 7 TDs  56.7% completion

Don't take these stats out of context. I've been impressed with JJ. His receivers drop a lot of passes and IMG has a strong running game which takes a lot of the weight off his shoulders.

I've mostly been watching to see how his game will translate to the next level. He has good mechanics, doesn't make many mistakes, is accurate, and puts the ball where the defense can't get it

100% this. I feel up until recently, with McCaffrey leaving, McNamara was kind of forgotten about. The kid has a ton of talent, and if Milton pops off and heads out before all of his eligibility is up, we could see Cade taking over and holding it down for a a few seasons while JJ develops and marinates. As is often discussed, a lot of these rankings and projections have to do with the potential of these kids projected over time spent with improved training and coaching, as well competition. He’s doing a lot of the harder-things-to-train-and-develop type of stuff at a very high level right now. He has very good pocket awareness, he’s often making the proper reads, he can throw to different levels, and he is very accurate. And if you only look at his statistics, you don’t necessarily pull that information, but I think he passes the eye test when you watch his play.

JJ is mobile and has a very live arm. He is already better at hitting RB's on swing passes and WR's on screens than any QB we've had at UM in ages.

It's good he can handle what should be table stake matters as a high school player.

Having said that, he will need some work.
