OT - Don't Look Now, Detroit Tigers Start Season 7-3
Well, I'll be the first to admit, I went into this season thinking that this would likely be a very, very long season for the Detroit Tigers (and it still could be) but the Tigers have now won 5 games in a row, and 7 of their first 10 games to start the season.
Pretty cool history was made today as well. Closer, Shane Greene becomes the first pitcher in MLB history to record 7 saves in a team's first 10 games of the season.
Lots of young talent and the season is just getting started but boy, am I liking what I'm seeing so far!
Go Tigers!
Lots of young talent? Let's be realistic. The starters have pitched well during a time when it takes offenses awhile to get going. This is a bad baseball team, period. Worst thing is they contend until the all Star break forcing them to make a move or not trade one of their starters, that would set them back
They're starting to remind me of the 76-77 Tigers, some good young players, a farm system with pitching talent. I think they will improve this season to only being 8-10 games below .500. May be in a few years they will be above .500 like the early 80s Tigers, then one year they will probably win a WS again in 6 or 7 years. Bless you Boys 2026! I wonder if Al Akerman is still alive?
