A source tells @coachingsearch that Alabama offensive GA John Van Dam is heading to Michigan as the offensive quality control assistant.

...in a quality control type of role.  His twitter has a pic of the Big House on it so I guess it's pretty much official.
 
A former MSU-walk on QB so I'd imagine he'd have good ties to the area.

Are what a football team needs to survive into the future.

We seem missle locked on Michigan Men just to keep the fanbase quiet and so the more talented young men who spend time in Ann Arbor the better in my thinking.  They might be the one calling all the shots someday.

That said, talented people always have a place in an organization.  Obviously one of the biggest issues is accruing talent on the player side of the ball.  I'd postulate its equally as hard to gather it up to similar levels on the coaching side of the ball although money always helps with the latter...
