Lede: Ohio State University’s police department received a donated “Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle” this month complete with gun turret, armored siding and bulletproof glass.

As a current Marine who has seen these vehicles in action, I'm positive they will not be used in the same capacity as in Iraq or Afghanistan.  Most likely, they will be used a s show of force to break up any riots that could break and keep people in check, much like mounted police officers.  If you havent been around the military, these vehicles are absoultely massive in comparision to civilian vehicles and only a couple could easily disaude a riot. 

With the draw down in the military look to see more MRAPs within the United States as a large surplus of vehicles were created due to government contracting.  Also, look to see more MATVs across America as well, they serve the same purpose but looks like a SUV version. Its higher off the group and imo would be a better tool for a show of force given its more compact size (relative) and manueverability.
