Biggest move for Michigan is that Jake Butt moves up to #171 (was #234 before) and Shane moves up slightly to #26 from #32.  The rest of the commits fluctuated slightly based on others moving up or down.

I have no clue how at every camp it seems like either Morris is 1st or 2nd best qb to browne but he still only can manage to get up to the 4th best qb? I mean I can see how Browne is higher but penn states qb and burns? Really?

I think Hackenberg is a bit further along than Morris at this point based on what I've seen, even though Morris has a higher ceiling due to his freakisly strong throwing arm. Hackenberg throws a tighter ball and makes excellent reads. If I had to pick one to start as a true feshman, I'd be a little more comfortable with Hackenberg than Morris. Both are excellent prospects though and should do very well in the Big Ten.

That's a very respectable opinion but I just haven't heard nearly as much hype about hackenberg as I have about Morris. And hopefully we won't have to even worry about starting morris until at least his sophomore or maybe even junior season depending on the growth of gardner and bellomy

I think the hype with Shane comes more from what he can grow into, than what he is right now.  Given that he has great arm strength, and excellent leadership skills, once he learns to get through his reads faster, and become more accurate with his throws its easy to see why people are quick to hype him.

I mean, #39...fine.  Tight ends don't quite have the same value as other positions.  But not #1 at his position?  The kid is a freak athlete.  Bama has a very, very good TE on their hands.  And, he's a hell of a kid too -- nice, smart, well spoken...like the Shane Morris of TE's.  Hard not to like and cheer for him.  Even though he's going to Bama.

Generally don't mean a whole lot. It's usually pretty difficult to know a lock from a bust. Quarterbacks are especially tricky because of all the different variables. One thing a lot of people tend to overlook is high school competition level. A qb from 5A ball in Texas is generally going to be more college ready then a qb coming from NY. Another thing is surrounding talent. Some qb's are blessed with several division one players at the skill positions. Probably the most important is the coaching a high schooler receives. A defensive minded coach might not work a whole lot with a qb as to where an offensive guy does everything he can. Ultimately it comes down to the determination the individual possesses. With all that in mind and having watched all of these kids on film I have Browne and Morris 1 and 1a. Hack in 3rd. Morris can straight sling it and his deep ball is quite impressive. He is very charismatic, determined, and one hell of a leader at his age. He's way ahead of the pack in those areas. It's my belief that a national championship is in our plans before Morris leaves.
