One would think the referees would want to bring their A game since they would want to be a ref in the new big ten hockey conference.
February 17th, 2012 at 9:33 PM ^
I'm concerned that this is their A game.
February 17th, 2012 at 9:35 PM ^
They have an A game?
February 18th, 2012 at 1:29 AM ^
What's ridiculous is how hard it is to break into the elite leagues as an official. Everyone would probably be even more pissed off if they realized the number of level four (highest level) USA Hockey officials that don't even get a chance to work in the CCHA or similar levels.
February 17th, 2012 at 9:26 PM ^
Can we keep the puck out of our own zone? NMU dominating possession so far. Pissing down our legs when we're trying to clear it.
February 17th, 2012 at 9:33 PM ^
REFS Y U SUCK???
February 17th, 2012 at 9:34 PM ^
dammit this is seriously unreal. Why can Hunwick and anyone on our team get freakin reamed but as soon as we hit someone its automatically a penalty
DAMN IT
DAMN IT
February 17th, 2012 at 9:35 PM ^
Fuck you CCHA. Fucking glad we're leaving if this is how it is. My God. Fucking fuckers.
I love how lacing your comment with the f word somehow makes me feel more intelligent.
February 17th, 2012 at 9:35 PM ^
What game are these refs watching?
February 17th, 2012 at 9:40 PM ^
DeBlois!!!!!
February 17th, 2012 at 9:40 PM ^
He SCORES! Great pass by Merrill
February 17th, 2012 at 9:40 PM ^
GOAL!!!!!!!!!
I love justice.
February 17th, 2012 at 9:41 PM ^
That was a good look by Merrill., Hit DeBlois right up the middle. Mini-breakaway. Five hole. Goal
February 17th, 2012 at 9:43 PM ^
Oh, sure, now they call a penalty on NMU.
February 17th, 2012 at 9:44 PM ^
Love the student section singing Everytime We Touch after the faceoff
February 17th, 2012 at 9:45 PM ^
I'm always amused when the announcers say "don't do something" and the players do exactly that as soon as they're done saying it.
February 17th, 2012 at 9:46 PM ^
Moffie!!!!!!!!!
February 17th, 2012 at 9:46 PM ^
Snipe show. 4-1
February 17th, 2012 at 9:46 PM ^
Moffie with the one timer!
February 17th, 2012 at 9:46 PM ^
Moffie one-timer. PPG
February 17th, 2012 at 9:48 PM ^
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 17th, 2012 at 9:50 PM ^
CCHA refs are all idiots. Not just Sergott. We always get the short end of the stick when it comes to reffing
February 17th, 2012 at 9:59 PM ^
2-1 Wings!
February 17th, 2012 at 9:59 PM ^
Datsyuk with a dirty goal with five seconds left to keep the streak alive. 22!
February 17th, 2012 at 9:59 PM ^
WOW! how about the Wings with a goal at 59:55? Fantastic!
February 17th, 2012 at 10:00 PM ^
WOO! 22!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 17th, 2012 at 10:03 PM ^

February 17th, 2012 at 10:15 PM ^
Great win for Michigan. Win big tomorrow on senior night. I'm gonna miss those guys, especially Hunwick.
BTN sucks horribly still. Thank GOD they let FSN take the game tomorrow (BTN originally was broacasting it).
GO BLUE!
February 17th, 2012 at 10:33 PM ^
To flame your hatred for the BTN... The announcers were not even at the game. They were simulacasting from Chicago. All they had in Ann Arbor was two engineers in the press box.
I don't even want to talk about the gongshow refs that confuse cross checking with a legal shoulder check. that shit happened right in front of me in section 17...Good riddance to the CCHA
February 18th, 2012 at 7:51 AM ^
did they announce as to whether the game will be on Fox Sports Detroit or Fox Sports Detroit Plus? Guide is currently saying sharty's game is on FSD during that time, so they would either kick them off (lulz) or put it on FSD+.
Edit: HALOL, they kicked sparty off of FSD and put us on there tonight instead! Confirmed by FSD on twitter.
February 17th, 2012 at 10:55 PM ^
This excerpt from the box score explains a lot:
Referees: Kevin Hall, Matthew Miller
Assistant Referees: Andrew Hempel, Joseph Hutek
Looks like they broke up the Sergott and Hall crew after the Miami incident
February 17th, 2012 at 11:57 PM ^
The Miami refs were Sergott and Hill (Hall and Hill are 2 different refs).
February 18th, 2012 at 11:25 AM ^
same idea. Hall is known as one of the shitiest refs in college hockey. Hill and Hall used to be a part of the same officiating crew.
February 17th, 2012 at 11:02 PM ^
Anyone else notice Lloyd Brady's fantastic salute on the big screen? (sometime during the third period I think)
February 17th, 2012 at 11:26 PM ^
February 17th, 2012 at 11:35 PM ^
Favorite moment: the Northern player hauls down and literally pins our guy to the ice behind the play, the ref stares at it for a few seconds, and then proceeds to essentially direct traffic in telling the NMU player to get off instead of, you know, calling a penalty.
Wait, no, I take that back. Even better, an obvious touched-up no-icing which doesn't get called until the puck crosses the goal line, the NMU goalie raises his hand asking for the whistle, and gets it a few seconds later. Never mind that you could clearly hear the contact with the puck from the 15th row. All you have to do is put your hand up and the ref does the rest.
Wait, no, I take that back, I can't pick one. Because tonight was legitimately one of the worst CCHA officiating jobs I've seen in years. And there have been some doozies. I don't know what these guys were looking at. I've long thought that the addition of the fourth on-ice official watered down the pool far too much, and the more we work within this system, the more I think it's true.

(from http://siouxsports.com/hockey/rankings/pwrdetails.php?teamid=11), Michigan is in 5th, with 25 comparisons won, losing comparisons with Ferris, Duluth, Denver and BC. But, Michigan is about 1 game from winning each of those comparisons.
For Ferris and BC, if Michigan can take the RPI (M: .5646, FSU: .5660, BC: .5665), they'll win the comparisons
And for Denver and Duluth, Michigan needs to win the TUC (M: .5926, Denver: .5952, Duluth: .6071)
Who'd athunk in December that Michigan would not only be well within strikinng distance of a 1-seed, but well within striking distance of THE #1 seed?! Gonna be an interesting next few weeks. FWIW, I think Michigan needs to win out thorugh the CCHA tourney to get the #1 seed, but I think they're in very solid position to get a 1-seed, even if they lose one more, perhaps if they lose two.
I'm not going to do a full-on bracket, but by straight seeding bands, right now Michigan would be the #2 seed in a regional with #1 Duluth, #3 Miami and #4 North Dakota. Do not want.

rable rable rable ... refs have reached a new low.
Slightly OT, Has anyone heard a solo this year during 'I Can't Turn You Loose' / Blues Brothers Dance? I always enjoyed that; I wonder what happened. It was awesome seeing band members around Yost.
February 18th, 2012 at 2:08 AM ^
Did you end up finding a stream for the game? It was a pretty good one to watch.
February 18th, 2012 at 2:12 AM ^
Just listened to it on the radio. I saw the highlights thought, it looked great.
