Car Care Bowl Open Thread
Good morning, CFB fans!
ESPN will kick off another full day of bowl games at noon EST with the Meineke Car Care Bowl, featuring Texas A&M (6-6) and their "we're so pissed, we fired our coach" baggage and a Northwestern (6-6) team that prides itself on being the perennial trap game of the B1G.
I took Texas A&M in the first half myself, with Northwestern making a strong showing in the 2nd half as the Aggies fade, but not enough to lose to the Wildcats. The official line is pointing to Texas A&M as well, I believe.
So you know what is coming, here is today's lineup:
2 PM on CBS - Sun Bowl (G-Tech versus Utah)
3:30 PM on ABC - Liberty Bowl (Cincinnati versus Vanderbilt)
3:30 PM on ESPN - Fight Hunger Bowl (UCLA versus Illinois)
7:30 PM on ESPN - Chick-Fil-A Bowl (Virginia versus Auburn)

Northwestern's band just played the theme from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. That should be worth a few scores.

"They were not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways...
Brave, brave, brave, brave Northwestern..."

Running away, eh? You yellow bastards! Come back here and take what's coming to you. I'll bite your legs off!

This is really embarrassing for Northwestern.

That monkey must feel really awkward on the sidelines now.

Better offensive line: Northwestern or air?
EDIT: There is a reason Colter is generally in on the option plays, right? Right.

Tried to switch to the Sun Bowl but Danielson is talking about the SEC. Either I use the mute button or it's back to Northwestern.

When DOESN'T Danielson talk about the SEC? Dude is obsessed with them and is the same guy that rooted for Florida to get in the NC game over us and then Alabama over Oklahoma State. CBS is to SEC as is NBC is to Notre Dame.

I am not a coach, but over 45 minutes into regulation is a little late to find your rhythm on offense unless you're banking on Texas A&M mounting a collapse that would surely end up enshrined on FAILBlog tomorrow...
Well, it IS Texas A&M we're discussing...

I thought Dan Persa was the ish. Why is Fitzgerald switching em out? what i miss?

To GERG/stuffed animal motivational tactics? Good Lord, they're doomed.

Can A&M fall apart again?

And here comes NW!

Pat Fitzgerald loves his job. Always seems happy no matter the score. NU is the perfect place for him with the lack of expectations. He'll have a 30-year career there of 5-8 win seasons and he'll be in heaven.

....or at least, this is the impression you get by looking at the TAMU sidelines. The 53-50 4OT tragedy against Kansas State, for example...

TAMU is pretty terrible at bleeding clocks.

A Texas A&M FG and 33-22 is how it will end up unless Northwestern pulls off something utterly miraculous, folks.

If Northwestern played like they did at the end, they would've destroyed A&M. Too bad they let A&M run all over this offense until the 4th quarter. Still think Northwestern and Iowa should have won their games...
