Las Vegas Bowl Open Thread
MAACO to your friends. Shouldn't be close, but the same thing could be said last night. We'll see if it looks like we should be wishing we were playing Boise as much as it looked like TCU wasn't so tough last night (or more likely, just really didn't want to be there). Does Boise want to play? We shall see.

that would be hilarious if they drop that one at home.
December 22nd, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
There is a distinctive burning rubber smell coming from the Vegas area. More specifically, from the ASU sideline.
December 22nd, 2011 at 9:42 PM ^
But did a lot of you have this as a high confidence game?

I've been getting killed vs. The spread, and last night's win/no cover didn't help. Tonight might. (No jinx)

It was up there on my list certainly. Having watched a few of ASU's November tragedies, I put the game where I did on the assumption that Erickson's tenure would end in a crescendo of smoldering petroleum by-products....

Boise was in my top 6 or 7 picks I believe (not looking at the form and the piece of paper with my password is on the opposite side of the building so I'm too comfy to get it). I'm picking against Nevada on Saturday but I don't have the game high because I know almost nothing about either team.

Houston-Indy, I won't take offense.

(Where's Formerly Anonymous in the Texans season of glory? After last year I felt for him working for them).

It could have been anyone of us creating this thread and saying the same thing about now. Actually, it was almost me - you beat me once again.

I just had to do it a little early as I left the library since I wasn't getting home till after 8. I don't feel bad, I'm still watching.
Hawaii bowl 8 on Saturday.

Oh my, worse than ASU.
Forget it, back to Boise.
December 22nd, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
Evidently it's dangerous to kick off to start a half. Although that might have convinced Boise to continue to hold the gas down.
Edit: obvious onside kick is obvious. I was watching the Boise line to see if they left early. They didn't. Good coaching.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:01 PM ^
Good play by ASU or they were gonna be down 35-10. Maybe this could be a game.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:01 PM ^
Comeback coming?
More interesting now in any case.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:03 PM ^
Well, I guess the mutiny is on, eh?
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:03 PM ^
Hmmm I wonder if the players still listen to Erickson?
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:04 PM ^
Well if more of that stuff is coming, I'm in for the long haul! Hilarious.
How lame-duck does Erikson feel now?
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:32 PM ^
the mighty have fallen. He went 63-9 at Miami and then sucked from there on out.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:09 PM ^
From having a game again.

Less...a flag...
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:09 PM ^
Tire fire all around now. Boise does this in the third quarter in several games that I've seen. Pretty weak PI call IMO.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:18 PM ^
You can't run it up to 28-3 and then start letting ASU back into it! That's what mid-major teams do!
EDIT: ASU almost did something brilliant - score on a great drive, so the INT is especially crushing. 35-10 Boise State now.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:13 PM ^
I want to rip the rest of Wendy Nix's dress off.
I'm just sayin'.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
So then you have that.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
the greatest entertainment I have seen this year.
Coach Osweiller, luvvin it.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
Even the officials are not recognizing Erikson's authoritah anymore. And what the hell are they reviewing? No way you can review whether or not the coach tried to call a timeout. This happens sometimes and I've never seen it reviewed before.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
That was an importantish play.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:34 PM ^
....and machine gunning themselves in the foot. Decent return, just minus ten yards.
EDIT: ASU fans look like they've just seen "Old Yeller".
DOUBLE EDIT: Boise offense - play perimeter, get points. That is all.

You're in charge of all the bowl game threads that week. (Though the Sugar will have a Liveblog too). Unlike the last 3 years, I'm actually making this game, so I won't be around to post them all in New Orleans. But I probably will wifi in on some and post in them. They were good therapy when Michigan or I couldn't go.
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:47 PM ^
This is getting just a bit out of hand.
December 22nd, 2011 at 11:09 PM ^
Somehow a 1 point game. And the Texans run the ball on 3rd and 5. Sigh.
December 22nd, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
...because I started Neil Rackers in the championship round of my fantasy league.
December 22nd, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
With 5.5 Pt spread.

Right now I'm not sure Houston is such a fan with the Colts in the Redzone.
December 22nd, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
They're good. Should've gone to the Big 12, blue turf and all. ASU won't soon forget this.
Would have been a hell of a matchup for us in Nola.
December 22nd, 2011 at 11:22 PM ^
Them not getting that Sugar Bowl invite?

Me, not so much.
December 22nd, 2011 at 11:24 PM ^
Texans look kinda glad to just make the playoffs this year.

This one was positively 2010 though. Somewhere in Texas FA died inside a little more.
December 22nd, 2011 at 11:45 PM ^
Kellen Moore finished his career 50-3. The three losses were by a total of five points.
December 23rd, 2011 at 1:51 AM ^
And in two of them he put his team in a position to win only to see his kicker miss an easy field goal.
