How is Indiana #133 if there are only 120 teams?

The rankings feature both FCS and FBS teams.

ouch.

They can take solace in not being the nation's lowest rated FBS team (that's New Mexico at 193). They are the lowest ranked BCS conference team, though, and Minnesota is 3rd lowest (Kansas takes silver).

Sagarin includes all the FCS schools as well since they seem to play a lot of FBS teams. So, yeah, there are a dozen FCS teams (or more) better than IU.

Predictor 10 ELO_CHESS 14
I know they play a ton of tough teams but at some point you are what your record is, and they can't close out games.

The ELO CHESS ranking (the one used by the BCS) has us at 27. Ouch. I guess cause the two decent, top 30 teams we've played, MSU and ND, we lost by 14 and won by only 4.

ELO Chess only takes into account the strength of schedule and whether the game was won or lost. According to Sagarin it isn't nearly as predictive as the predictor rating.

IMO Sagarin's predictor ratings put WAY to much emphasis on blowouts. It tends to overrate teams that blow out a bunch of mediocre teams. That is why the BCS won't use it and will only use the ELO Chess, which ignores margin of victory.

What's up with the Big 12? Are they really that good? Nine of their teams are in the top 45 with only Kansas outside the top 50. Also, 7 of their teams are in the top 10 for schedule strength.
