NEW NUMBER

Amazing.  Words fail to describe the weekend I had in glorious Ann Arbor.  Met Marlin, Perry, Braylon, even David Pollack.  And now I'm stuck back in Pennsylvania like a desperate heroin junkie with  a condition that can best be described as an addiction for the Michigan Difference.

Love that team. Love that place.  And I love Meeshigan Football.

Finally, thanks to the MGoTeam for a really fun and unique experience on Friday.

WE'LL LEAVE A LIGHT ON FOR YA

In a few hours I'll begin the pilgrimage.  Thanks to a very young family, and, well, Pennsylvania, I don't make it out often enough these days.  I find myself as excited as Morgan Freeman at the end of Shawshank.  Gonna be an amazing weekend.

GO BLUE.  And Beat the Irish.

DYNAMIC PRICING

(Click the Image to See Full Size Version)

Okay, so the Athletic Department has called us out and asked us to put our loyalty in our wallet.  I'm really frustrated by the pricing changes-- esp. when adding in the costs of a road trip, dining in A2, and the assorted purchases at Moes, MDen, that dude on the corner, etc.  But I suppose I understand why it's being done.

Not that I like it one bit.  Go Blue.

The Blockhams in "HEAT WAVE"

(Click the Image to See Full Size Version)

UPDATE:

The winning punchline has been embedded into the strip above!  Actually, the final text is a composite of ideas from MGoBlog readers "1484" and "blueblooded14," as depicted in the final piece.  And for the record, I have no fascination with the number 14-- just a strange coincidence I suppose.

Thanks to everyone for all of the great ideas-- this was certainly a fun exercise in MGoCreativity, and we'll be sure to do one again in the future.  GO BLUE!!

(ORIGINAL POST)
Hotter than what?!  Hotter than an OSU Compliance Officer at a Tattoo Convention?  Hotter than those hockey chicks Brian photobombed?  Hotter than the hot sauce on your barbacoa burrito?

That's right, it's a READERS CAPTION CHALLENGE!!! I've drawn the artwork and started the idea, now it's up to you, the readers, to put your own sense of humor to work to deliver the punchline!  How would you complete Tom's sentence?  Leave your most creative & witty solutions in a comment below and keep checking back all day to see what other readers have come up with.

Hey, it's the offseason.  Sharpen your sarcasm before the season begins.

The best answer, chosen by myself, will be worked into the final version and feature the winning writer's name in the by-line forever in the strip archives.  The winner will be chosen and announced on Monday morning.  Good luck!

BLOCKHAMS Caption Challenge Tomorrow

By Six Zero — July 18th, 2013 at 2:57 PM — 13 comments

Hey friends, hope you're all finding ways to beat the oppressive July heat. Just wanted to make a quick announcement that tomorrow's BLOCKHAMS strip will in fact be a Caption Challenge-- I'll draw up the artwork, throw in a half-completed word bubble, and you'll all be invited to fill in the blank with your best Michigan-related or semi-OT punchline! All entries on multiple venues (here, Twitter, & www.theblockhams.com) will be considered, and I'll choose the best to be added into the final comic for posterity, with the winning author receiving a by-line credit for their humor. Look for the strip to drop sometime after lunch tomorrow, Friday, July 19th. Looking forward to it! If you have any questions or concerns post below and I'll get back to them when I can. Thanks! 60
