Bronx, one interesting thing about all those 5* players in Columbus - the majority are on offense. I don’t believe they have recruited as well on D, and especially the DL, as they have in the past.
If I counted correctly, the 5 stars are split down the middle, 7 on defense and 7 on offense, including the backup quarterback.
I may have a little bit different perspective on this. Several years ago, my nephew was in an accident while driving drunk and was killed. He had just graduated from high school a month earlier and on his way to a graduation celebration. He was a great athlete and honor student and had exciting plans for his life and a bright, bright future. This tragedy and the aftermath was something I hope no one would ever have to go through, and it changed all of us.
At the time, there was plenty of talk on social media and in the news about blame and fault. His parents and family were left to pick up the pieces and endure the opinions and observations of people who didn’t know them. This was torture for all of us. I can’t even describe how the guilt and grief affected his parents, still affects them.
I am saying all of this in hopes that we measure our words carefully. Dwayne’s family and friends are still processing this tragedy. Who are we helping with our search for condemnation? There will be lessons from this, but that can happen in its own time. Let’s let his family grieve.
I sincerely thought Neutral Milk Hotel was a made-up band from the episode of Parks and Rec where April picks it as her favorite band and Andy gets jealous.
I think that’s a ridiculous take. What coach, playing for a conference championship and a national ranking, would choose getting his quarterback an individual reward over winning the game? More likely, he was trying to get Fields some confidence back, given his recent struggles. Or maybe he just really trusts him and his abilities.
