I don’t understand this at all. I think most adults eating in a decent restaurant know how they want their steak cooked. If I order medium rare, it’s because I want medium rare. Please don’t intentionally serve me a steak that is only rare. I HATE sending food back. It’s awkward and delays the meal. Plus, it’s my experience that a rare steak sent back to be fired to medium rare usually returns to the table cooked to medium well. Or even well done. And what people remember of their experience is, “I had to send my steak back and it came out over cooked.”
Notre Dame? Meh. I’m perfectly content not playing them again until 2033. 2043 would be even better. Let them marinate in the juices of 45-14 until then.

No single rider has been dominating the climbs this year, so if he has any gas left in the tank he may be able to hold that jersey for a while. If he gets through tomorrow, Monday is a rest day, which some riders like and some don’t. Then three really tough mountain stages in the Pyrenees. Lots of points remaining for anybody who can step up. Whatever happens, it’s going to be exciting.
This. Three p.m. is the appropriate time for Thanksgiving dinner. As early as 2:30 or as late as 4 p.m. is acceptable. I’m glad that somebody here gets it!
The appropriate time to start drinking is up to individual discretion.
I expect it will be a long time before Michigan Stadium sees another crowd of 110,000+. Lots of factors here: Fear of COVID, ill economy, people simply breaking a long-term attendance habit, people coming to terms with the sport-wide decline of the in-person stadium experience, our poor performance versus OSU.
We are going to have to do a lot of work to earn it back.
Shooting paintballs at the Sparty statue is one thing. Pulling the statue down and dragging it through the streets of East Lansing behind your pickup truck is a whole different thing. What he did is more like that. And this wasn’t done in the heat of an emotional moment. There was a whole lot of planning and premeditation involved. All while he was a fully formed adult human being.
i am not a fan of dancing on anyone’s grabe, but this guy is not going to ever live this down. Even in death. I would hope that people remember he has a family who is mourning him and try to be respectful for their sake.
I met Pat Dye on Bourbon Street the day before the 84 Sugar Bowl. One of my friends asked him to sign a Michigan jersey. He wouldn’t do it, but he was nice about it.
At a time when people mistake large house cats for bobcats and every snake is believed to be a copperhead, this lady spotted, ID’d and photographed an actual wolverine. Very cool. Go Blue!!
I just read a news article saying that WB may not remain committed to the July 17 release date. If East and West Coast theaters remain closed or are open at a greatly reduced capacity, they might push it back. If they decide to do that, how far is anybody’s guess.
I noticed that the first trailer I saw said that Tenet opens on July 17. This one simply says Coming to Theaters. So I am buying the notion that we don’t know when we will see it. It’s a huge movie, though. I doubt WB will ever dump it straight to streaming.
I have been a huge fan of Nolan since Memento and very much want to see this on a big screen.
I’m on record in an earlier post with a different movie (Bridge On the River Kwai). But I want to say I’m surprised that nobody so far has given a nod to The Caine Mutiny. Bogart is phenomenal.
I would be in for this. I remember watching that stage of the Tour and just being dumbfounded. Everybody knew that Landis was going to take a run at it, because he had to. And when he did, he absolutely crushed the race. I had that feeling you get when you know you are watching something historic. I don’t know what to even compare it to except maybe Secretariat winning the Belmont by running away from a horse who in any other year would have been a triple-crown favorite himself.
But... at the same time, it was impossible to not think that he had to be seriously juiced. Guys bounce back from bad days in the grand tours, but not like that. So half my brain was blowing up with excitement and the other half was melting down, wondering what the hell he could have taken overnight that would produce results like this... His failed test was one of the least surprising things ever.
Yup. The question for OSU is, Would you forfeit your shot at victory if it gives Wisconsin their best chance to steal the win from Michigan? Sparty would. Will the Buckeyes? We'll find out.
Large differentials in speed are a major factor in highway accidents, As long as there are drivers poking along at 65 mph, I don’t see how it would be safe for somebody else to be doing 120, no matter how skilled they are. I know that sucks for those who want to go fast.
1977, 63-20 win over Northwestern. We trailed 0-7 after Q1, then led at the half 14-7. I had to look up the stats and was surprised at how much we won by because I remember being annoyed at how close the game was. Different era, different expectations.
I have both a high school ring and a Michigan ring. The high school ring hasn’t seen the light of day in years. The M ring comes out every time I watch a game. Other than that, I don’t wear it.
