05/08/2016 - 2:00am I agree that populations

I agree that populations should be able to defend themselves against tyranny & invasions, but with the advanced weaponry that our military has, it seems nearly useless to imagine standing up to a coup (or whatever such enactment of tyranny we could imagine, against which the population could pose an armed defense) with the firearms that civilians can acquire.

Can you give me a better view of your perspective that might counter my understanding?

(As with all internet posts on controversial topics, it should be noted that I am legitimately interested in learning more about different viewpoints and not just making an "I am very smart" response. I think we have more of a chance of achieving the former here than some other places.)

From our experience with other books in the series, which is with bright, enthusiastic Korean elementary-schoolers, I wouldn't expect it to be too tough - as long as the level is appropriate for the kids.

I hope it goes well for you and your kids!

Did he ask that nothing be recorded?  From what WD wrote in the OP, he seemed to be asking that the whole thing not be posted online.  Either way, if WD feels that abstaining from posting any of it (or taking down what short clip he did already post) would conform more to his wishes, then I think we can all respect that.

Absolutely. The lack of treatment for so many (painfully) injured vets is a great shame on our country and especially those who exercise the responsibility to give them dangerous duties without providing for them and their families after they've carried them out.

Just as an example, I met a large, powerful young infantryman, who, among other things, had broken several teeth, including one molar completely in two pieces, each suspended freely in its own alveolus. Due to the amount of pain he was in from other injuries, anesthetics didn't help much. This man has waited several months for a board to clear him for treatment. An absolute shame.

Meanwhile, check out where your premiums are going when they aren't being used to provide benefits. UHC CEO was compensated 102 mil in 2009 and makes around 12-14 in a normal year for essentially denying good people coverage, and delaying that which is approved, much to the chagrin of patients and physicians alike. Surely some of those funds could be used for the treatment of good, honest citizens - or especially those who've put themselves in harms way to try to serve the nation people like CEO Hemsley prefer to treat as a cash cow.

Try listening to music and reading some simple - perhaps children's book to help pick up new vocabulary & grammatical constructions (but beware of occasional strange (poetic) grammar usage).
www.dict.cc is the best online dictionary & community I've come across, with a lot of context available in German / English, and has been expanding into new languages as of late.

Most importantly: have fun with it! Our brains respond receptively when presented with comprehensive, meaningful input in a relaxed environment.

01/04/2015 - 8:47pm That's an interesting question.

Anecdotally, I've heard that playing on natural grass is the least injurious environment for players, and it makes logical sense, especially compared to some of the surfaces that have been used.  I never experienced any problems with field turf (at least the stuff at UM). If data show a correlation between certain surfaces and rates of injury, I'm sure it won't be long before one of the brilliant statistics minds on here maps out any changes regarding surfaces, on which they played during that time, but from what I read, they have played their home games on natural grass before as well as after the 2006 stadium renovation.

12/21/2014 - 12:44pm Not particularly familiar

Not particularly familiar with the Afghan situation, so not insinuating it's the case here, but voting is legally required in some countries; in some cases (e.g. '80s Guatemala, El Salvador), the death squads running the country happened to target citizens without stamped IDs, verifying that they'd shown up and effectively pledged loyalty.

Again, I'm not suggest
Ing that's the case here, but it is another possibility to consider when long lines are seen at ballot boxes, especially under uncomfortable or unsafe circumstances, that some sort of external pressure could be involved.

11/21/2014 - 2:51am Old Timers

When I was in HS, I would occasionally see those games on one of the channels (Was it called "Classic Sports?") and then ask my coach, who blocked for OJ and Mike Holmgren at USC and played a bit in the NFL afterwards.  He had some things to say about several guys, but he said Night Train was considered the meanest guy around at that time (not sure if their time in the NFL overlapped).

11/20/2014 - 9:13pm Players vs. Teams

He seems to consider the teams as entities, instead of the individual players, who, I'm sure anyone would admit, benefit immensely from cooperation, and usually suffer directly proportionally to selfish behavior of individual players on- as well as off-the-field.

11/20/2014 - 6:50am Where do you live / are you

Where do you live / are you staying in Seoul? I haven't personally found anything; the bar locator doesn't show anything for the area. I've been in bars (in Songdo, as well as Itaewon, as mentioned by the other poster) quite late here, which were showing baseball and basketball games from the US - live, I presumed. You could try scouting the places out in your neighborhood for that, and ask whether they have the proper channel & open hours for you to take in The Game.

If the victim has a careful dentist and proper oral hygiene habits, he should be in decent shape.
